If you could sum up the aura of summer in a vibrant
collection of brilliant hues and textures it would be the new cosmetic range by
Mary Kay! These vivid pigments will keep you fashionable all season long and inspire
countless trendy styles from warm and smouldering to fresh and subtle.
The Mary Kay at Play range is my favorite within the brand because the products are youthful, fun, edgy and modern! The Baked Eye Trios
are available in 3 ravishing compacts including- Out of the Blue (blue, bronzy green and gold), Purple
Eclipse (silver, black and purple)
and Neapolitan (champagne, coppery bronze
and pink).
The domed colors are expertly grouped to complement each
other which make them easy to use and great for travel. All of the shades
except for the black have a lovely shimmer- metallic finish that accentuates
the eyes and blends well. I prefer applying them over primer to amp-up the intensity but the color payoff is wonderful even without a base
and they don’t crease or fade!
Neapolitan
Purple Eclipse
The smooth pigments apply consistently for even coverage
with little fall-out and a lot of glam! The trios retail for $14.00 each and they are simply fabulous!
Gloss-up with confidence and juicy hydration with the new
Jelly Lip tubes! These sheer shimmery
beauties drench lips in a layer of moisture with a supple wet finish and a
touch of shimmer. If you take a closer look at the formula you can make out
tiny bubbles which melt into a non-sticky, radiant coat of glossy goodness! The
two colors available are Jamin’ Berry and Glow With It- a clear formula that
adds a touch of sparkle to bare lips or luminous highlight when layered on top
of your favorite lipsticks.
Recently I’ve been on the hunt for some vivid blush to
jazz up my summer wardrobe and the Mineral Cheek Color Duos are exactly what I've been looking for! Each compact has a rich matte pigment plus a peralized highlight
shade suitable for all complexions. The blush is also very buildable so you can go from sheer to bold for stunning color that lasts all day!
Although I would have preferred fancier packaging the subtle
highlight hues create a healthy glow and the pigments brighten and revive dull
complexions. The duos retails for $20.00 each.
Juice Guava & Spiced Poppy
Ripe Watermelon
Continuing with the fabulous duos trend I have to talk
about the shadow and liner crayons because they are so darn cute! Usually I am a bit weary when it comes to
pencil, cream or liquid eyeshadow but these are decent. The color glides on effortlessly
with a creamy, smooth texture, soft finish and a shimmery-metallic effect.
Left to right: Iced Lilac (with purple liner), Rebel Rose (with black liner), Mint to be (with dark green liner), Carmellow (with bronze liner)
The colors layer quite well and I didn't have any issues with
creasing, heaviness or stickiness which is common among cream formulas. Adjacent
to the twist up crayon is a complimentary eyeliner that looks quite large but
is actually very easy to use for a variety of looks. The formula of the liner
is also very creamy which is great for application but not so great for
smudge-proof results and longevity. They also contain a touch of glitter which may be a
bit much when paired with shimmery eyeshadow but they do look nice on or
just below the lower lash line. Matte, waterproof liners would have been
more usable for summer but these are still quite fun to play around with and they retail for $15.00 each.
The packaging of the limited edition Nourish Plus Shine lip
glosses are super cute with a tantalizing swirl of Mary Kay’s most popular
shades! Create Change is a combination of Café Au Lait and Cream & Sugar while In Harmony is a
swirl of Pink Sateen and Berry Tart with brilliant gold highlight. The gloss is
non-sticky, simple, sheer and sweet.
You can apply the shades individually or mix them together
for a nice blend but eventually the cool design does fuse into one solid shade.
Both glosses have a very rich texture to deeply moisturize parched lips with
a layer of creamy protection. Until August 15th $1 of all sales will be
donated to help change the lives of women and children in Canada. The gloss
retails for $18.00 each.
If you love a good multipurpose beauty product then the
nifty little lip & cheek sticks may be just what your makeup bag needs this
summer. Available in two great shades these lush pigments twist-up and glide-on
easy for a flawless flush and kissable lips. Razzleberry is a pretty
plum-pink hue that is great for all skin tones and Peach Pop is a bright coral that you can apply directly from the tube or pat on with a finger. The colors apply sheer to full coverage depending on how much you use and since you don’t
need a brush they are great for travel. You can pick them up for $12.00 each.
You can pick up these great products at Marykay.ca or
through independent consultants.

I've only tried one mascara from Mary Kay and it's brilliant! The eyeshadows are crazy pigmented and just gorgeous! I don't know any Mary Kay consultants so will have to purchase it online.

I love the pigmentation of the shadows, I am actually wearing the purple today and its so pretty!
DeleteThe patterns of those lipglosses are very tempting! I've never really been a big Mary Kay fan. I ordered some liquid lip color from them a few years ago and I loved the way that worked. I'm still kinda getting my feet wet with this makeup thing, so I like to try things out first before I buy them. I can't exactly do that with Mary Kay...at least not like I want to. BUT it does look like Mary Kay has really revamped their style!
ReplyDeleteThey have revamped their style and their At Play line is so cute and modern! You should definitely give them another go.
DeleteI love the products in that white packaging, those Mineral Cheek Colour duos and the Neapolitan eyeshadow trio look amazing. And the lip & cheek sticks are so nicely pigmented, plus the colours are gorgeous. Very nice review, thank you dear!
