Rejuvenate Your Complexion with Cool NEW Face Masks from MaskerAide

When I got back from Florida last week, I was in desperate need of a facial. After crisping in the sun, I looked like a rotisserie chicken (you can’t hide from UV on the beach) and the humidity was wreaking havoc on my pores. I got home at 3 am, slept for 5 hours and still made it to a VIP beauty lounge for the Toronto International Film Festival the next morning. Sure the mimosas helped, but I needed some serious beauty treatments before attending any star-studded events.

After cleansing, exfoliation and an invigorating facial steam, I used my new MaskerAide Bubble Bubble Pop Charcoal Sheet Mask ($7.00) to deep clean and purify. The mask activates with oxygen, creating a layer of fluffy foam and the powerful ingredients eliminate blemish causing dirt, bacteria, pollutants and oil. It’s kind of fun to watch the bubbles form and the serum is loaded with tea tree, spirulina, apple amino acids, basil, ginkgo balboa, broccoli, alfalfa, kelp, plankton, protein and more! The mask is also free of parabens and artificial pigment.

For a healthy glow, the Rosé All Day Rose Gold Peel off Mask ($7.00) revitalizes the complexion with a blend of honey extract, royal jelly and real 24K gold flakes! I love the shimmering color and as you peel away the thin film, it feels like dirt, debris and impurities are being lifted out of your pores. The mask also firms, refines and gently uproots fine facial hairs for a smooth finish. After treatment, my skin feels soft, clean and thoroughly prepped for skincare or makeup.

The Crystal Clear Mini Sheet Masks ($7.00) are loaded with pearl extract, hyaluronic acid and niaciamide to fade dark spots, brighten dull areas, clarify and diminish acne scars. There are 12 crystals per pack so you can put them just about anywhere (face, shoulders, décolletage) for plump, luminous skin. The serum can be massaged in after treatment (no need to rinse) and you can really go to town on your problem areas by targeting certain spots. If you don’t use all 12 masks in one session, I recommend folding the package to lock-in moisture (I usually secure it with a paper clip) and seal it in a Ziploc bag. You can even pop it in the fridge for a cooling sensation.

Sweet Retreat ($7.00) contains 12 dessert themed mini sheet masks infused with vitamin C, A, B1 and B2 to smooth, replenish and moisturize. The vanilla cupcake scent smells delicious and the healing formula is ideal for dry, flaky skin. Since the masks are different sizes, you can play around with their placement for maximum coverage. After 20 minutes skin appears clear, bright and supple! If you want to get really creative, mix and match the crystals with the cupcakes and macaroons.

MaskerAide Let’s Face It Purifying Cleansing Stick & New Tell Me Pout It Lip Mask

On long, hectic days I really appreciate beauty products that make life easier. Traveling around the globe and battling Toronto’s mid-day traffic can be tiring so I love the new cleansing stick and lip mask from MaskerAide for convenient makeup removal and a luscious pout.

You can toss the portable stick in a gym bag, carry-on or purse and be ready to refresh your skin whenever the mood strikes. The formula is infused with antioxidant-rich red beet which gives the cleanser its purple hue. Some of the other nutritive ingredients include: pink clay, rose petals (which are visibly embedded in the stick), citrus oil, raspberry, cranberry, blueberry, bergamot, sunflower oil, evening primrose and meadowfoam. It is also free of parabens, artificial pigment, fragrance and preservatives.

I like to wipe off my foundation and shadow with a makeup cloth prior to using the cleanser because I usually have a ton of stuff on my face. Simply swirl the product onto wet skin and massage it in thoroughly to work up a creamy lather. After rinsing my skin feels soft and most importantly it isn’t dry or tight. I did notice some bubbles but don’t expect a soapy foam because there are no harsh sulfates (which is a good thing). The rich emulsion removes all lingering traces of makeup and impurities while balancing and nourishing – pretty impressive for a cleanser made from natural ingredients. Let’s Face It retails for $23.00 and I can take it on the plane without having to pack it in designated liquid bags plus there are no spills or mess.

Dry, flaky lips are not cute especially when topped off with bright pigment that draws attention to chapped skin. Thankfully the Tell Me Pout It Lip Masks help firm, stimulate collagen and diminish the look of fine lines with a hydrating formula. I did notice a slight plumping effect but the smoothing and softening results were even better! With a blend of powerful berries, honey and fermented rose, the mask refreshes dehydrated skin while creating a protective barrier to heal and rejuvenate. It works like a mini-lip makeover and after treatment my pout was supple, healthy and primed for lipstick. I experienced a minor issue with adhesion so make sure your lip area is completely dry before use. The masks could also use a bit more serum since it seems to wear away quickly but other than that they are great for makeup prep and retail for $7.00 each or $25.00 for a box of four.

MaskerAide In A Clutch Hydrating Sheet Mask Set

Every now and then your complexion needs a restorative boost and whether you like to party hard, work late or lounge on the beach, MaskerAide has you covered! I’ve been using these cute sheet masks for years and the fabulous formulas perk-up my complexion without any harsh parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, artificial fragrance or added pigment.

Now you can get your favorite masks in a variety of combos and single packs as well as this trendy Fab Life Set! This collection is perfect for sheet mask lovers and skincare fanatics because it contains all six treatments in one little clutch plus a box of the new hydrating gel eye patches.

Beauty Restore is infused with aloe, witch hazel and argan to help repair environmental damage, sooth, calm and heal dryness. I use this mask while vacationing in the tropics or battling harsh Canadian winters. I Don’t Wanna Grow Up is a multi-action treatment that helps combat the signs of aging with natural ylang-ylang oil, argan, vitamin E and hydrolized collagen to diminish lines. Beauty Restore is a fabulous night mask that prepares you for bed by deeply hydrating and replenishing plus the subtle scent of lavender oil relaxes the mind and body.

All Nighter came in handy last week after all the late night Film Festival Parties I attended! It has an invigorating cooling effect that awakens, replenishes and refreshes while de-puffing tired eyes to help erase the signs of the previous night. If you need a little pick-me-up before heading out, Pre Party Prep has been my go-to for years! Argan oil, fruit extracts and honey help energize, hydrate and brighten for smooth, soft skin that is ready for makeup. Detox Diva is formulated with geranium oil, seaweed and green tea extract to minimize pores, absorb impurities and protect from toxins and free-radicals. It also provides gentle exfoliation for luminous, clear skin.

All of the masks are thoroughly soaked in serum so you get great coverage and there is enough to massage into the chest and neck. It only takes 15-20 mins so you can kick-back, relax and let the stress just melt away as you pamper yourself and prepare to snap more duck-faced selfies. This set is an online exclusive and retails for $56.00. Individually the masks are $6.99.

When it comes to eye care I go all out because dark circles aren’t cute! Although I use eye cream every night with my Foreo Massager for gradual, long-term lightening, I generally find that masks produce more immediate results. These refreshing gel patches are loaded with hydrating, brightening and firming ingredients including hyaluronic acid. The formula is infused with an impressive 100 natural herbs that diminish the look of bags, darkness and fine lines. Treatment time is 15-30 mins and each box contains 4 pairs retailing for $25.00.

MaskerAide is sold at Trade Secrets, London Drugs, Nordstrom, Ulta and more. For a list of retailers near you please visit the website by clicking HERE.

Beauty Box Five April

April’s Beauty Box 5 is all about embarking on a hydration vacation and taking your skin from blah to beautiful by revitalizing the complexion. From great skincare to bright, juicy color, I’m really digging this month’s collection of goodies!

Before I delve into the box let’s review how the service works. Beauty Box Five is a subscription that starts at $12 for the monthly box, $30 for the quarterly subscription and $99 dollars for a year. You receive a mix of luxury items and common brands with products for: hair, skin and nails as well as fragrances and beauty accessories. The box contains 5 products and usually includes 1-3 full sized items. It is a great way to sample a variety of new brands!

Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigment in the shade Fig Jam (full size included ~ $19.00)
This pretty pink pigment retails for more than the cost of the box! It also happens to be my favorite product and with a fun name like Jelly Pong Pong who can blame me!? As soon as I saw the vibrant shade of pink I knew it was a match made in lippy heaven and it doubles as a cheek tint! Simply layer on the lips from sheer to medium coverage or lightly dab and blend onto the face for a flush of color. The texture is pleasantly creamy, the pigmentation is great and it smells like candy! You may need a lip brush as finger application can be a tad messy on-the-go but the color is perfect for the season.

Soapbox Sea Minerals Body Wash (sample size included)
I don’t mind receiving sample size body washes because they are great for short getaways and this formula evokes a day at the beach with a soothing blend of aloe, shea butter, sea minerals and deep sea water! I absolutely love the scent, it smells as fresh and invigorating as a summer breeze and each bottle purchased gives soap to someone in need.

Maskeraide All Eyes On Me Hydrating Eye Gels (sample included 1 pair)
I am no stranger to Maskeraide, in fact I have reviewed many of their adorable masks in the past and they were all awesome! The gel eye patches brighten, firm, hydrate and reduce the fine lines and puffiness caused by annoying spring allergies. They make a great addition to weekly facials and can help you recoup after a long trip, sleepless night or a grueling day at work.

Chella Passionate Pink Moisturizing Lip Pencil (full size included ~ $18.00)
I’m not quite sure why this lip pencil retails for $18.00 because it’s mini (half a pencil really) and it doesn’t twist-up. It is also made of that plasticky feeling wood so it isn’t easy to sharpen. The color is nice but it’s more orangey red than pink and it glides on effortlessly with a comfortable formula and good color pay-off. I’m not familiar with this brand (the packaging says made in Germany) but a little more pencil would have been nice.

Global Beauty Care Green Tea Makeup Remover Wipes (full size included ~ $1.99)
When I saw that these wipes were only $2 for 30 I thought it was too good to be true and I expected dollar store quality. Thankfully I was wrong, they are moist enough to remove foundation, lip color and even most eye makeup which puts them on-par with common drugstore brands. The sheets are also infused with vitamins A, C and E to help tone and firm which is an unexpected bonus.

This month’s box was a definite hit! For more information or to sign up for the next box click HERE

MaskerAide Pre Party Prep Facial Mask Review

At the end of a busy week I like to pamper my skin, so every Friday night I relax in the comfort of my home and do a complete facial. Not only does my personal spa day allow me to unwind and have some much needed me-time which I think every woman needs, but it also rejuvenates my skin and erases some of the noticeable stress so I can get ready to enjoy the weekend.

Recently I have been using a new face mask by MaskerAide. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the appealing name and packaging. I love the cute girly design and these would be a perfect addition to a girl's night beauty session with friends.

Helping you prepare for some fun!
MaskerAide facial masks are super easy and convenient to use because they come in one simple mess free sheet that brightens nourishes and hydrates the skin. These masks are soaked in rich ingredients that improves the skin’s appearance and provides a fresh glow. They are called pre party prep for a good reason! They are made to help get you ready for any event you have planned by “priming your skin for a flawless, velvety smooth finish.” They are also handy because they are easy to take with you and use on weekend trips or vacations.
Benefits of MaskerAide facial masks

Beneficial Ingredients
I love products that use great ingredients and these masks contain some natural elements such as:

Directions
To use this mask all you have to do is follow the three simple steps on the back of the pack. It only takes 15-20 minutes, which is time I use to lay in bed with some music, read a book and just relax. You can use this mask daily or once per week.

I will be attending the Steven and Chris TV show which airs on CTV so I wanted to prepare my skin to be seen on national television! I had a little prep session with my MaskerAide mask the day before and my skin was fresh and ready for some high definition makeup.

The first thing I do before using this mask is cleanse my face. I use my Clarisonic so that the serum from the mask can better absorb into my skin. The mask is very cooling and refreshing and adheres to the skin quite easily. I was surprised that the mask fit so well around the eyes nose and mouth and I really like how wet it is, it was literally dripping with the serum. When I rinsed the serum off my face with water my skin felt clean and there was no residue left behind.

I actually prefer this mask to my usual clay and mud masks because usually when those dry on my face they make my skin feel tight and itchy but this mask stayed wet the entire time and didn't end up caked into my hair or clothes. The smell is also pleasant. I followed up my mask with a moisturizer.

Cost and where to purchase
These masks cost $5.99 each and are available at maskeraide.com/

Other types of masks by MaskerAide
This company also sells a variety of other cute masks that are beneficial to the skin. Some of the other masks include:
*Detox Diva
*All Nighter
*Weather Warrior
*Beauty Rest'ore

Great Gift Idea
Since the holidays are coming up I am on the lookout for great gift ideas and these masks would make a cute gift for friends, a nice addition to a gift basket or even great stocking stuffers for the women in your family.
