EvoDerma Noome Anti-Aging Motion Device

I have reviewed many skincare products with multiple anti-aging benefits and although I don’t have fine lines, wrinkles or visible signs of aging I believe that prevention is key to a beautiful complexion. I take good care of my skin because I’d like to keep it looking youthful and radiant for as long as I can and with the effects of UV and other environmental aggressors early care is imperative. To do this I use great products that work for my skin type, change up my routine with the seasons to increase moisture when needed and cleanse on a daily basis. I also give myself a rejuvenating facial one per week with exfoliation, nourishing treatments, masks and steam.

The Noome Anti-Aging Device can be incorporated into your skincare routine to promote healthy looking skin. It uses non-abrasive dermal technology to actively stimulate cell renewal, boost collagen and soften wrinkles. In just 5-10 minutes the Noome stimulates blood flow for a healthy more radiant complexion and releases tension to relax facial muscles, smooth and brighten.

As you move the device around your face it uses a sophisticated vacuuming motion with micro-lifting rapid pulses for effective, comfortable facial rejuvenation. The mechanical motion and massage is a non-invasive, clinically proven technique with no risks or side effects.

When I use the device I feel gentle suction and pulsation against my skin and there are 2 treatment cups (1 soft and 1 firm) to personalize the intensity. I use the strong cup because I think it does a better job of stimulating my face.

At first it took me a few minutes to get the hang of moving the device along my skin. I found that if I press too firmly the suction seems irregular whereas when I apply very light pressure the device glides along easily and does most of the work. Upon first contact I like to press the Noome down so that it creates some initial suction and a better grip. You should feel a continuous suck and release sensation without any slippage and it helps if your skin is slightly moisturized.

There is only one button that turns the device on and off and it comes with 2 double A batteries. It would have been nice if the Noome had a rechargeable battery but it is portable enough for vacationing and very easy to use.

Like many skincare products, visible results are usually most evident after continuous use but with the Noome there are some immediate benefits listed which include:

I may not be able to attest to the reduction of wrinkles but I do think the device is an easy preventative measure to incorporate into my skincare routine. Although I did not notice much difference in the texture of my skin or any dramatic changes for me the best benefit is increased circulation. The cellular renewal and mild muscle stimulation can bring healthy color to the face although I think stronger suction would promote better results. It also seems like much of the action occurs subdermally, like a mini workout for your face with pain free toning! I will definitely continue to test this device and see if I can achieve more visible results.

Make Up For Ever Fifty Shades Of Grey Tease Me Collection

When Fifty Shades of Grey hit book stores around the globe many of us were hunched over our novels devouring the dark, tantalizing love story of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. I have read all three books in the series by bestselling author E L James and just in time for Valentine’s Day the much anticipated film adaptation is hitting the big screen!

The Liquid Lip Color is dual-ended and the other side contains a clear gloss which can be worn alone or on top of the pigment for more shine and moisture. The color adheres to the lips very well which extends the wear of the formula without the need to reapply as frequently. The glossy hue begins to fade in layers so it holds up pretty well through eating and drinking and leaves behind a bit of a stain.

The color is also very buildable for lighter looks or full coverage. 

The Lip liner matches the lip color beautifully and the waterproof formula glides on smoothly to precisely shape the lips.

If you are in the mood for something a bit sheer then the Lab Shine Lip Gloss from the Diamond Collection is sure to give you a radiant pout. The sparkling formula is designed to deliver natural looking color with glistening shine.

Whether you are heading out on a date or enjoying a movie night with the girls you can complete your glam look with the new Make Up For Ever Ink Liner in the purest black. This dark, sultry eyeliner is great for defining your eyes whether you are going for subtle and pretty or mysterious and bold.

The tip of the liner is very sturdy so it does not bend or flex much when shaping. This can make it a bit difficult to create a wing but not impossible. The point is thin but not overly so which works well for creating both thin and thick lines for varying effects.

I like that the applicator sits in an ink pot which is my favorite type of packaging for liquid liner. It allows me to pick up a lot of pigment without the tip drying out and I can control the color intensity. I also like that I can go over the line repeatedly after it dries to fill in spots without the color looking too thick or becoming flaky and untidy.

This formula dries quite quickly and very matte for intense, solid lines. I wore the liner all day and did not have any issues with smudging, running or fading but the formula is not waterproof so I don’t know how well it will hold up in warm weather. The Ink Liner retails for $27.00.

Pelle Beauty: New Beauty Serum and Luxe Beauty Balm

With the abundance of artificial additives and unrecognizable ingredients in many beauty products I try to use natural, healthy brands whenever I can. Pelle Beauty has been one of my favorites for the past year and their luscious face oils infused with quality ingredients, botanicals and antioxidant rich formulas has been an integral part of my daily routine. You won’t find anything artificial or harmful in this line, just pure natural goodness with the benefits of plant extracts and aromatherapy.

Recently Pelle Beauty has launched two new products that I have added to my nightly regime. The Bloom Beauty Serum like most products in the line has a soothing floral scent and absorbs quickly. It is formulated to be lightweight so that it can be layered with other products and I usually apply it prior to the Beauty Balm, face oil or moisturizer. Along with anti-aging benefits and maintaining skin elasticity, the addition of hyaluronic acids provides concentrated hydration with no greasy residue and once dry the serum is almost undetectable.

The beneficial ingredients include: neroli flower, aloe leaf juice, hibiscus flower extract, coconut fruit juice and radish root.

The consistency of the serum is very nice, it isn't sticky or too runny and you don't need much to coat the face. The pump can be a bit finicky but the formula works well with just about any other product I layer it under. It makes my skin feel fresh and smooth and it even works well under makeup although I still pair it with face cream for more moisture. The serum retails for $80.00

The luxurious Beauty Balm is wonderful for battling dehydrated skin and boosting the complexion. The consistency in the jar is solid so you do have to press into it a bit for extraction but the texture is rich, creamy, smooth and easy to blend. The balm has a waterless, highly concentrated formula that targets dry sensitive skin and it is packed with essential fatty acids and powerful antioxidants.

Although it contains natural oils, plant extracts and botanicals it isn't thick, heavy or too greasy and I like that it gives my skin a healthy, long-lasting, hydrated glow! The delicate floral waxes provides a layer of protection and fruit oils nourish the skin with vitamins: A, B1, B2, D, E and beta carotene.

The beneficial ingredients include: broccoli seed oil, raspberry seed oil, (rice) bran oil, avocado oil, cocoa seed butter, jasmine flower, rose flower and neroli/bitter orange flower oil.

I like applying the balm after cleansing; it soothes skin with a layer of moisture and eliminates dry patches and discomfort for soft, supple results. The Balm is perfect to use after beauty treatments and facials and it is vegan friendly, free of dyes, preservatives, fillers and synthetic fragrances, it retails for $65.00

Loreal Infallible Collection- Spring 2015

Despite the icy conditions and bitter cold I've been busy delving into the spring trends and testing some wonderful new products! Loreal has already released their spring 2015 collection which includes everything from polish, gloss, shadow and setting spray.

The Infallible line is designed for very long-wear, with formulas that last throughout the day and reduce the need for reapplication. The shade range includes all of your basic favorites to add a bright pop of color and a little warmth for the coming season.

The Infallible 2-Step Lip Color may be one of Loreal's longest lasting lip products to date, they are formulated to deliver an impressive 24 hours of wear! I would categorize the finish as lacquer, initially they apply shiny, bright and glossy with high intensity pigment but once dry they become completely matte and quite flat. The formula tends to settle into the texture of skin for one dimensional coverage which reminds me of liquid eye shadow. This type of finish may eventually become drying but thankfully the other side of the packaging contains a clear balm to deliver soothing moisture and a touch of shine.

To apply the lip color the directions instruct that you begin with the pigment and wait 30 seconds until it is dry and matte. I found that this step may actually take a few minutes and the more color you apply the longer the layers take to dry. 

Next you apply the clear lip balm located on the other end of the tube, this step keeps your lips from feeling dry. If you apply the clear layer before the color dries it will tint the balm which you don’t want. You may also need to reapply the balm throughout the day for comfort.

The coverage is quite good with consistent application in just a few strokes and the color does last a very long time even through eating and drinking. I actually had difficulty removing the pigment with soap and water plus a few different makeup removers which barley faded it. Hopefully with longer wear the formula will loosen some because it clung to my skin for longer than necessary.

Wet Swatches

If you usually forget to reapply your lip products or you are looking for something you can put on without having to worry about it transferring, smudging or coming off all day then this may be the product for you. I love the shades but it would have been nice if the finish remained glossy and creamy and I don’t always have the patience for lengthy makeup removal at the end of the day. The lacquers are available in 14 ultra-rich shades and retail for $13.99 CAD each.

The Infallible 2-Step Nail Color is a sleek new hybrid gel-lacquer that delivers up to 12 days of color and shine for salon quality results without the need for UV machines.

They are available in 12 trendy shades ranging from deeper hues to light feminine colors and the formula is chip resistant. The shades I have are: 021 Always a Lady which is a deep burgundy and 008 Iconic Indigo which is a rich purple shimmer. The long tubes are also dual ended with your main color on one end and your tinted top coat on the other. The polish retails for $10.99 each.

The Infallible Pro-Spray & Set is an oil free makeup extender with a mild scent. To use you simply spray the micro-fine mist onto your face after makeup application for a fresh look that lasts all day.

The formula is lightweight and does not leave my face feeling stiff or uncomfortable. It also dries quite quickly with an undetectable finish that protects against factors like temperature and harsh light. The infusion of aloe helps sooth and hydrate without making skin appear oily or slick.

The nozzle distributes a lot of product that dispenses in a refreshing mist but you do have to push it all the way down when you spray or else you may get large droplets of liquid rather than a fine spritz. The spray is one of my favorite new products from this collection and it is great for special events and hot summer days! It retails for $16.99.

Sticking with the long-wear theme the 24 Hour Foundation and Pro Matte Finishing Powder also delivers great staying power for a flawless, shine-free finish. The micro-sponge technology absorbs oil and the formula is designed to meld rather than mask creating a natural, smooth surface.

The foundation I have is in the shade Caramel Beige (medium coverage, light texture), it applies silky smooth and light-weight. The formula blends well and dries very quickly with a resistant finish that does not transfer, wipe away or fade throughout the day.Because of its durability I like to apply it under my eyes to camouflage darkness, it works well under concealer for an extra layer of coverage and it does not crease. If you can find a color that works for you this foundation would be great for summer and probably hold up well in humidity, it is available in 12 shades and retails for $19.99.

The finishing powder lasts up to 16 hours and diminishes oil and shine, it is available in 9 shades and retails for $16.99.

For all you smokey eye shadow lovers the new Infallible Smokissime Powder Pen Eyeliner is fantastic! This is Loreal’s first eyeliner-eye shadow hybrid with a sponge tip applicator that blends the loose black pigment onto skin with no smudging or mess. You can apply the color to your lids and in the crease as well as under the eyes for a bold, sultry line. The shadow actually applies with a well blended, smokiness so you don’t have to do much work to achieve the effect and it lasts up to 14 hours!

There are 4 daring shades: Black, Brown Smoke, Taupe and Purple Smoke, they retail for $12.99 each.

Along with all the new products in the Infallible line there is also a new mascara- the Voluminous Butterfly Intenza has a double winged brush for super fanned out lashes. The fiber infused formula is designed to coat lashes with a veil of color for 9x the volume with no clumping, flaking or smudging.
