Blinc Eyeliner Pencil and Eye Shadow Primer Review

Today I am going to be reviewing some new products that I have been trying by blinc. blinc is a cosmetics company that sells products predominantly related to enhancing the eyes such as: eye liner, mascara, brow products, shadow primers, lash primers, lash curlers and brushes for applying eye makeup. Their products are manufactured in the United States and Germany.

Lasting Power!
The first product I am going to review is the eyeliner pencil. For those of you have a hard time keeping your eyeliner in place and notice that you have black smudges and circles from eyeliner that has traveled under your eyes then this is a great pencil for you.

This eyeliner is “smudge proof, water proof and life proof.” The company claims that this product is their "latest cosmetic breakthrough" because it is “one of the longest wearing pencils available in the industry.” I found that they are absolutely correct! I have been using this pencil for weeks now and I can attest to the fact that it is super long lasting and it does not budge from where I apply it. Even if I rub my eyes as I sometimes do, the liner does not come off on my hand like other eyeliners I own. In fact when I swatched this liner on the back of my hand for this post I could rub my fingers vigorously over it and it did not come off, smudge or transfer.

Waterproof
Sometimes I have those days where my eyes water a lot, especially as the day wears on and I become fatigued; this eyeliner holds up well even during my worst watery eye moments!

Formula & Application
I like the formula of this eyeliner; it is smooth and easy to apply. With other brands I have used I found myself having to go over the line a few times to get the color to adhere, and then my eyes would begin watering from the process and the color would fade away. With this liner the color adheres and glides onto the lash line instantly producing a beautiful, bold pigmented line. It also applies effortlessly on top of eye shadow. This is also a great liner to use for smokey eye shadow looks because it can be blended above or under the lash line. You do have to sharpen it which is rather standard but I would have liked this product even more if it was a twist up pencil.

Antioxidants & Vitamins
The eyeliner also has some added benefits such as:
* Bioactive ingredient based on pure vegetable lipids that maximizes firmness and elasticity for younger looking skin
* Vitamin that acts as a natural antioxidant to promote anti-aging and cellular renewal
* High potency vitamin that acts as a skin conditioning agent for photo anti-aging

I have never owned an eyeliner with so many wonderful benefits for the skin!

Packaging, Colors & Price
The liner comes in a cylindrical tube with all of the product information on it. I think the packaging is quite cute and also helps ensure that I don’t misplace it among all the other liners on my vanity or during travel. I have the pencil in the color black but it also comes in blue, brown, purple, grey and white. You can purchase this pencil from blinc’s website by clicking HERE  it retails for $20.

Removal
The packaging says that the eyeliner can be removed with a makeup cloth. The best, fastest and least abrasive way to remove the liner around the sensitive skin of your eyes is to use a good eye makeup remover or a moist makeup cloth, soak the area for a few seconds and then gently wipe away.

Conclusion: this eyeliner is great quality, does what it claims and is worth trying out.

blinc Eye Shadow Primer: Fountain of Youthful Color

Many of you know by now that I love eye shadow and creating bold looks so blinc knew that this product would be a perfect match for me. I use a primer every time I apply my shadow and I think it is essential for the overall finished look of your makeup. This primer also comes in a cute tube.

Additional Benefits for the skin
Like the eyeliner this primer also has anti-aging benefits, "clinical studies have shown that it decreases fine lines after just six weeks by 67% and increase skin's moisture after just one week by 53%."

Colors
I received the color called flesh tone and there is one other color available which is lighter and fittingly called light tone. As you can see from the swatch below the color is not the shade of my skin tone and it doesn't have to be. Even with flesh colored primers you do not have to get an exact match because after you blend it out and apply your shadow on top you won’t see the primer; the primer acts as a base.

Results
I apply a few small dabs of this primer directly onto my eyelids and then blend it out with my fingertip. This primer is suppose to offer full coverage by concealing and filling existing fine lines, eliminating redness and providing a smooth lid. It does do a nice job of smoothing out the lid, it dries fast and eye shadows adhere to the layer of primer quite well. I did find that this primer made my eye shadow appear more dense and concentrated, by allowing the shadow to fill out the spaces between it and my skin. I also noticed that the color of this primer can cause the shade of some shadows to appear slightly different even though they still appear quite pigmented. This seemed especially true with shadows that have a metallic finish like the swatch above.

With this product a little goes a long way and using less actually produces better results. The best thing about this primer is that it helps keep my eye shadow intact and looking fresh the entire day and no matter how tired I feel my eye makeup looks good.

  1. These sound like some holy grail products! I am going to have to look into getting some of those eyeliners. I rub my eyes a lot and find that my inner corner eyeliner is all gone at the end of the day. Thanks for the great review!

  2. I've only found a couple of eyeliners that don't smudge a lot, so thanks for letting us know about this brand. I will look into it once I need to buy some eyeliner again, but I have a stash of 2-3 unused ones because of subscription box repeats.

  4. The pencil sounds really great and the packaging looks a lot like UD 24/7 pencils! I might have to try it since I haven't found a pencil eyeliner that lasts without fading or smudging.
