Urban Decay Eye Shadow Review: NEW Summer Shades!

It is no secret that Urban Decay has skilfully mastered the craft of creating gorgeous, high impact eyeshadow and their impressive collection of single shades include 86 hues! This summer the brand has released a few new pigments in an array of finishes including duo-tone, shimmer, metallic, matte, satin and pearl to satisfy your inner artist and get those creative juices flowing. 

Tonic is a beautiful purple with multidimensional blue shimmer for a unique, bold look! With rich, decadent pigment and a dense, high-impact formula the shadow blends and applies like a dream for long-lasting buildable coverage!

The smooth, velvety texture and intense color payoff is non-creasing and distributes consistently for easy application. I like to pair all of my pigments with the Urban Decay Primer Potion which enhances the underlying tones and increases vibrancy for a remarkable finish. The shade Beware is a matte-satin beige that works well for blending other hues, transitioning colors above the crease, muting brighter shades and as a subtle base. This is one of those essential colors that may not look as fancy or intriguing but always comes in handy when pulling a look together.

Sideline has a micro shimmer silver and gold duo-tone for brilliant illumination! This shade looks fantastic on the lids when you want that glam-factor and you can also use it to highlight the brow bones, inner corners of the eyes and even the face! The suede-like texture is very buildable and glides across the skin effortlessly with very little fallout so you don’t get sparkle dust all over your freshly buffed foundation.

Riff is also on the neutral side but it falls somewhere between diva shimmer and sultry matte with a subtle sprinkle of glittery light reflecting particles to make the eyes pop. This shade has a beautiful golden undertone for that coveted sunkissed effect that instantly warms the complexion. It can be used all over the lid or in the crease for a pretty wash of summer ambiance.
