New Summer Perfumes & Colognes

It’s no secret that my makeup and beauty collection is beginning to rival Sephora’s but what you may not know is that I also have a healthy obsession with perfume. Like a great pair of heels or the perfect red lipstick, an intoxicating aroma can make you feel stylish, sexy and confident. Today I’ll be featuring a few new scents that are sure to turn heads and put the finishing touch on all your summer outfits. 

L’Occitane never ceases to surprise me with their use of amazing ingredients that capture the essence and beauty of France. Terrre De Lumiēre - meaning “land of light” is inspired by the golden hour – the peaceful moment at dusk when the sun sets and the sky fills with spectacular golden light. This elegant fragrance is fresh, warm and sweet showcasing robust notes of honey, almond and lavender expertly balanced with sensual balsamic and musk. The scintillating gourmand strays from the brand’s predominantly floral bouquet and I find it feminine, flirty and rich - suitable for both casual and formal wear. I also like that the aroma lingers on the skin for hours before beginning to fade and the powerful base notes are very present. If you’re looking to lighten things up with a fun, sugary scent this season try Absolute by Avon. This youthful aroma is composed of calabrian bergamot, Italian lemon, Muguet (lily of the valley), orange flower, hibiscus, sandalwood, patchouli and honey. The perfume is very sweet and powdery with hints of zesty citrus for a delicious syrupy scent that is nice for a sunny summer day. The 30ml bottle retails for just $35.00.

In the men’s department you have the new Mr. Burberry Cologne with its thick sophisticated bottle and classic simplicity. This scent smells clean, sensual and intense - pretty much everything you’d want your man to smell like and then some. Enriched with dense patchouli, amber, smokey vetvier, nutmeg, cardamom and cedar the composition is warm, delicate and irresistible! The fusion of woody elements layered with hints of spice is comforting, masculine and powerful with a fashionable nuance true to Burberry.
