Burberry Fresh Glow Highlighter Illuminating Powder Review

Glowing skin is on-trend everywhere you look including the red carpet and social media so it's time for some high-end luminosity with Burberry’s Fresh Glow Highlighter. This elegant compact features a delicate lace design with reflective pearl shimmer that instantly brightens and accentuates the cheekbones.

Shade: Nude Gold

The lightweight, translucent powder is versatile enough to create subtle shine or high-impact strobing for more glamour and the formula blends well without settling into the texture of skin. The shimmer particles disperse and blend well for a neat, seamless finish with no chunky glitter and this shade has a pretty silver base with frosty gold sheen. The silky texture applies smoothly with each swipe and the radiant effect lasts all day without fading so skin appears dewy and fresh.

When layered over primer the pigment can be used as glittering eye shadow or dab some around the inner tear ducts to make the eyes look wide and bright. The highlighter retails for $72.00 and is available in 3 other gorgeous tints.

Burberry has also released new face and lip contour pens for all your sculpting needs. The lighter brown is for facial contouring and the creamy crayon can be swiped on and blended out to diffuse the color and control intensity. This shade is deep enough for dramatic sculpting and retails for $42.00.

The Lip Contour ($33.00) is available in 4 shades and this is the darkest hue in the collection. I think the color is supposed to be more flesh tone for accentuating and plumping the border of your pout so this shade is way too dark for me. I may be able to use it for facial contouring, brow filler or lipstick but the formula is wonderful and sets well.

Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet Review

When it comes to stunning color, the new Lip Velvets by Burberry steal the show! Available in 14 scintillating shades and packaged in chic frosted tubes, these pigments are bold, trendy and comfortable.

I chose three shades that show-off my style – glamorous, edgy and vibrant. The lush formula glides on effortlessly and coats lips in layers of rich, highly saturated color with a beautiful matte-cream finish. Nourishing oils keep lips supple, smooth and hydrated while the formula stays moist to prevent tightness and flaking.

These gorgeous shades apply full-coverage and dramatically intense without skipping and they accentuate your pout for hours! Magenta is a red-based pin-up pink that is bright, classic and flattering. Black Cherry is deep and vampy so it makes a statement on its own or contrasted with soft eye shadow. Bright Plum is my favorite shade for every season and occasion. It is vivid yet not too daring and looks amazing on all skin tones.

The applicator is rather long and standard but it does a good job smoothing on the buttery color and blending consistently. You can also use the very tip to outline the lip contour and I had no issue with feathering or bleeding. If you are on the hunt for some new lip color I highly recommend trying these, the Lip Velvets retail for $38.00 each.

Bright Plum

On Valentine’s Day I also received some new Burberry Kisses Hydrating Lip Color and I am just as obsessed with these shades as I am with the Velvets. Magenta Pink is lightweight and lavish with a rich matte finish and striking vibrancy. Pink Peony is soft, refined and perfect for spring with sheer, satiny shine while Military Red is sophisticated and fiery - great for a night out. The lipsticks are etched with Burberry’s signature pattern and retail for $38.00 each.

Burberry Complete Eye Palette Review

Summer is now in full swing but beauty brands are always one season ahead and many are already revealing fall trends. I love the sleek, sophisticated makeup from Burberry almost as much as I love their classic fashion and I’ve had my eye on the Plum Eye Palette since the pretty chrome packaging first graced Sephora’s shelves. These deep, sultry shadows may not seem like popular summer hues but their subtle gorgeousness can be enjoyed anytime.

The lovely pigments are designed for highlighting, shaping and defining to create sensational, high fashion effects and the range of color includes: Mocha, Grey, Spice, Pink, Rose, Nude, Sage, Plum (the palette I have) and Blue. Since purple makes brown eyes pop, I frequently use it to accent and the collection has color combos to compliment every skin tone.

You can wear these shades any way you desire but the palette does contain a base, eyelid shade, highlight, liner and crease/contour to create a complete, well rounded look.

I think the vivid plum is meant to be a liner but I also blend and fade it in the crease for a beautiful smokey effect. The shimmery bronze, greenish brown and champagne highlight can also be used for a softer look when you crave something more neutral but the palette gives you the versatility to go from deep and seductive to light and fresh.

As you touch the shadows you can definitely tell that they are high-end and fantastic quality. They have a luxurious buttery consistency that is soft and silky for effortless application and blending.

These rich runway inspired shades are also highly pigmented but they do layer sheer to full coverage and a good primer really amps up the color! The supple pigments glide on light and smooth with little to no fall-out, or fading and they last as long as my day does. The palette retails for $64.00 and also comes with a travel friendly pouch for storage.

When it comes to makeup I usually prefer fall colors but I like to keep my mani and pedi quite seasonal and Burberry has an elegant range of bright polish that dazzles in the sun. Coral seems to be on-trend every year so the shades Bright Coral Red and Coral Pink are just the hues I need to add a pop or vibrancy to all my summer outfits.

The square caps look pretty but they don’t really twist-off well so I have remove them completely and the little nub cap underneath provides good grip but isn’t as large. The formula is creamy, highly saturated (opaque in about 2 coats) and easy enough to work with. The brush is medium thickness with a little rounding at the tip - quite basic but still effective and I love the high-shine, professional finish. The polishes retails for $24.00 each and there are many shades to choose from.
