This post will take a slight detour from our beloved beauty products and tantalizing fragrances, lotions and potions because I am participating in The Writing
Process Tour! Since I love to write I decided to share a little insight into my blogging style and preparation. I was
nominated by the lovely Chelsea from Tiger Love Beauty.Com who
also writes beauty reviews and shares her makeup inspiration and favorite products.
And now the questions for the tour...
1. What am I working on?
At any given moment you can be sure that I am testing makeup
from some great brands, working on a new makeup look or editing a review. I put a
lot of work into the entire process of composing an informed blog post and I
usually test products for weeks before they appear on my website. Whether I am vacationing
half way around the world or I’m right here in my home office I try to create
interesting content and stay connected. More specifically I am working on finishing up some summer reviews and getting into fall the collections. I've even been testing some new products for Halloween!
2. How does my work
differ from others of its genre?
There are a lot of bloggers out there and a plethora of great beauty sites circling the web. I try to infuse my lifestyle into my blog’s content
by occasionally taking a break from all the gloss, glitter and shadow to incorporate
my other passions and hobbies. I love photography and travel so I often
share photos of my exotic destinations and adventures in hopes that my readers get to know me and virtually travel along too!
3. Why do I write
what I do?
When I am out and about, whether it be shopping at the grocery store, traveling to other countries or just browsing the mall I get stopped by women very often and asked about my
makeup. I've had lengthy conversations with strangers about what products I use
and how to use them correctly. The world of beauty and makeup is so expansive
that it is easy to get overwhelmed with all the choices available. I created my
website to share my thoughts on all the newest and popular beauty products, to help people gain a better understanding of how they work and if they are worth shelling out the cash for.
It can be helpful to get an informed second opinion and I myself like to read reviews before
I invest in a product.
I also blog for fun, I love connecting with readers from
around the world and seeing their encouraging comments. I am honored that I
can inspire and help people while getting the chance to express myself, write
and play with some fabulous makeup!
4. How does your
writing process work?
Many of you may not know this but I love creative writing
and I have been working on a fictional novel for a few years. Although my blog’s writing
style and genre differs from fictional work I still get to portray my thoughts and
ideas. I usually get my best ideas when I least expect it, I could be in the
shower, driving home, eating dinner or lying in bed and when an idea hits I can write
entire paragraphs in my head! Usually when these ideas come to me I get out my
phone or iPad and jot down some notes, I have scribbles everywhere! I like to finish posts ahead of time so I always have them scheduled and completed weeks in
advance! It can take quite a while to finish a review, but if it ends up being informative and helpful then it is well worth it!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my writing process. To continue the tour I nominate
these gorgeous bloggers:
*Aaliyah from: Shadow Liner Girl
Aaliyah is a lovely American blogger who writes about popular cosmetics which she uses to create colorful makeup looks. Like many of us she has no control in makeup stores and
loves purple lip products.
*Demi from: Beauty & The Mist
