Skin care is an important part of my daily beauty routine. I
am always on the lookout for great products and investing in devices that will
help improve the tone, texture and overall appearance of my skin. Wearing
foundations and concealers on my skin for long hours can wreak havoc on the
pores so proper cleansing and the complete removal of these products is
essential.
Recently I have been trying out the Skinetica anti-blemish "super toner". Skinetica is a company based in the U.K and as soon as I heard
anti-blemish I was all for trying it out. I don’t have major blemishes or
serious breakouts but I do get the occasional annoying hormonal pimples that
are hard to combat and sometimes take ages to vanquish.
The benefits of
Skinetica
The thing I like most about Skinetica is that it is
dermatologically tested and has no side effects! I don’t know many products
that claim to be side effect free so that made me more comfortable using it on
my sensitive skin.
Other benefits include:
*Kills 99.9% of P.Acnes microbes
*Can be used for all skin types and all skin tones
*Reduce the look of blemishes and acne for clear looking
skin
*Works for 12 hours
*Non-greasy
*Provides a base for foundation
*No harsh chemicals and non-toxic
*Non-allergenic
*Can be used on the face, chest and back
Cost:
You can purchase an 80ml bottle of Skinetica for €9.99
You can also get a sample size good for 1 week worth of applications for just €1 by clicking - HERE
I actually like to have the sample size bottle as well because for short trips it is a great travel size.

Interesting info
Something that caught my attention was the fact that Skinetica does not contain chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid which are found in most acne products and can cause “damage to the skin.” In fact I had no idea that some of the products I was using to treat breakouts could also cause “premature aging” and “thinning of the skin.”

Directions:
You are supposed to apply Skinetica every 12 hours on clean skin, at night and again in the morning under your moisturizer and makeup. I started off by using it twice a day to test out the product but reduced that to once per day as that was all I needed.
Results
Skinetica has a clear formula and a clean
fresh scent reminiscent of facial cleansers. I began by washing my face with a cleanser and then
patting a cotton pad soaked in Skinetica all over my face.
Cleansing
The first thing I noticed was a cool refreshing feeling
indicative of a toner. I then noticed all the remnants of makeup I had missed
being removed. The product helped lift the residual makeup initial cleansing
had missed out of my pores and provided a more thorough cleanse. Unlike my
usual toner however my face was not left feeling overwhelmingly dry and I did
not immediately have to slather on lotion to get relief.
Skinetica was very gentile on my skin and even after exfoliation I experienced no irritation or burning. The products also did not adversely
react with any of my other face products and left no discernible feeling or residue behind.
Using it under makeup
Another thing I
like about Skinetica is that I can wear it under my makeup without it affecting
the application and I like knowing that even when wearing pore clogging
foundation Skinetica would still be actively working underneath it all for 12 hours. It also did not make my skin greasy during the
day which was an added bonus.
Results on Acne and
blemishes
I did notice slight improvements in the appearance of the few small blemishes but what was more evident was that the two pimples I was trying to get rid of began looking less red and noticeable and after two days they had shrunk to the point where I was effectively able to conceal them. By the third day the pimple had almost disappeared. Compared to my other spot treatments and acne creams Skinetica helped my pimples disappear a lot faster. It may not work overnight, and I'm not sure anything can but it can however help reduce acne flare-ups by killing bacteria. Since I began using it as a spot treatment I haven't had any major issues with breakouts! For this benefit alone I will definitely be purchasing this product again when I run out. I love how it improves the appearance of my skin and actually seems to work with my other facial products.
The only thing I would suggest is that the bottles come with a protective seal on them which would be especially helpful for orders overseas.
Recommendations
I would recommend this product to those of you looking for a
good face toner to help cleanse the dirt, oil and makeup out of your skin with the added bonus of helping fight acne. I
do prefer this brand to many other drying toners and acne spot treatments I have tried.
