Purminerals Soul Mattes Eye Shadow Palette, Liquid Veil Foundation and Double Ego Mascara

Whether you love bright, electric colors or subtly reserved hues having some basic matte eye shadows in your collection is essential. I love deep shades in the crease to accentuate and define and lighter pigments highlight the brow bone beautifully. You can pair them with a variety of finishes like velvet, satin, pearl and metallic or wear them alone for fresh day looks.

Since having a foundation of flattering colors to build upon is a must, it is no surprise that I enjoy playing around with the Soul Mattes Palette by Purminerals. Perfect for travel and use on the go this little palette includes 8 fundamental shades from: taupe, beige, cream, raspberry, deep plum, clay and earthy-brown with a combination of light pink and warm sandy undertones. All makeup wearers would benefit from owning a grab-and-go palette like this and the shadows compliment all complexions.

Shades from left to right: Sweetheart (pale pink), Companion (Vanilla), Adore (puce), Better Half (raspberry), Alter Ego (plum), Sidekick (Mocha), Bff (cinnamon) and Confidante (tea rose)

These shadows transition well from the lids towards the crease and brow bone for a beautiful gradient of color and professional results. I like that the shades are buildable and blendable for deep solid coverage or a soft faded effect. The shadows are all true mattes void of shimmer or sparkle and the texture is smooth and soft. Often times when I get a palette the applicators lacks in quality but the large eye shadow brush works well for patting on color and blending.

The shades in the palette have great pigmentation and longevity especially when paired with primer and it is definitely one you can use everyday for a variety soulful, trendy looks, it retails for $35.00.

If you are going neutral on the eyes why not brighten up your pout with a beautiful, rich lip color. The Chateau de Vine Mineral Lipsticks are available in array of beautiful shades that glide on smooth with a touch of brilliant shine. Each Lipstick is infused with Resveratrol from Bordeaux’s wine region which helps reduce the signs of aging with nourishing antioxidants for soft, youthful looking lips.

The lipstick has a light sweet scent with beneficial ingredients and although “it’s what’s on the inside that counts” as someone who is drawn to aesthetically pleasing products the packaging is a bit underwhelming.

The bright pink hue I have is called A-Lister which is a great shade for spring and all skin tones. The buildable coverage ranges from a sheer stain to bold pigmentation and the formula is light and comfortable to keep lips hydrated and moist without settling into chapped skin. The lipsticks retail for $20.00 ea.

The Liquid Veil 4-in-1 Spray Foundation is the first foundation packaged in a canister that I have tried! To use you simply spray it onto the back of the hand or directly on the brush and blend it onto the skin. The spray does create a bit of mist but it goes directly where you aim so application is quite tidy.

The Liquid Chisel Brush is specifically designed to apply this foundation, it has a flat kabuki-like top and sturdy coarse bristles for buffing and blending. Although the brush is not plush or very soft, it does a great job at consistently distributing the foundation and it is the ideal size for all areas of the face. The formula is super light and airy so little to none absorbs into the bristles which reduces product waste.

I usually have difficulty finding a foundation to match my skin tone which is in the medium range and Liquid Veil is only available in 3 shades- (light, medium and tan). This may pose a problem for those who don’t fall into these standard categories but surprisingly the tan shade blends into my skin seamlessly and melts in for a soft, beautiful finish. The texture of this foundation is very silky and creates a skin-like, natural layer that makes the complexion appear smooth, even and fresh. Due to the slippery consistency I recommend setting it to prevent transfer.

Wearing Liquid Veil Foundation mixed with CC Cream

The foundation is formulated to produce an airbrushed effect and with the right amount of blending it can definitely give you that finish. It also contains Ceretin- which targets the appearance of lines, wrinkles and imperfections and Liquid Crystals that prevent water loss and increase hydration. Although it is packaged in a spray can it contains no butane and is environmentally safe.

The only thing that could make this great foundation even better would be more shade options and coverage. It produces light-to medium coverage if you build it up enough but it does not camouflage everything so I still use concealer. If one of these shades work for you and you like weightless formulas then definitely give this one a try! It retails for $43.00.

The Double Ego 2-in-1 Dual Ended Mascara is another first for me! It seems like almost everyday a new mascara pops up on the beauty scene but this creative design is unlike any I have tried.

The photo below is the lengthening brush

And this brush is designed to add volume

The brushes above may look different but they are the exact same wand! By twisting the end of the cap all of the bristles are contracted inwards to create a shorter, more compact brush and a completely different effect! This dual action mascara lets you dial up the amount of volume and length you want with a water-resistant, clump free formula and lash conditioning vitamin E, kelp and jojoba.

The Double Ego is a great jet black mascara for adding a little drama to your everyday look while boosting lash density and promoting growth. It retails for $23.00

  1. I am so glad that you did a post on pur minerals! I've seen the brand so many times but don't recall seeing any reviews on it. It's Shoppers brand no?
That eyeshadow palette looks fantastic, the swatches are amazing. I might pick that up to try, I love the shades in it, it's a palette that I would get a lot of use of.

    1. I think this may be my third post on the brand but I really like it, I will be reviewing a few of their skincare products soon! You can get the brand at Shopper's Drug Mart but it is actually under the Clarins umbrella in terms of PR so not a Shoppers Drug Mart brand.

The eye shadows are fantastic, since I got it I've been using it everyday! They are perfect for the crease, as transition shades, highlighting, shading etc. They look great with my other palettes as well.
