Merlot Natural Grape Seed Skin Care

I love grape seed oil. I use it for cooking (sautéing and salad dressings), on my hair for a nice oil treatment, and as a butter substitute on my popcorn! Grapes are very rich in vitamins and antioxidants so it is no surprise that they are also good for your skin.

Merlot Skin Care sent me some of their products to try and I am glad they did. I am always on the lookout for great skin care products because with all the makeup I wear plus environmental factors I have to make sure I am taking good care of my skin. I was more than willing to try out these products that are made with natural red grapes!

Merlot moisturizer

The Merlot moisturizer can be used during the day and under makeup. It also contains SPF 15 which is an important component to have in a moisturizer. This moisturizer is actually a creamy light purple color in the jar but goes on clear. Although the cream is "fragrance free" to me the natural scent is quite strong, it reminds me of a clean soap scent which smells fine and tends to dissipate as you wear it.

What I like most about this cream is that it makes my skin feel moisturized without making it greasy which is great for me because I can wear it under foundation and it doesn't make me look oily throughout the day. It is also very light weight which would make it the ideal summer moisturizer and the consistency allows the cream to glide over the skin and distribute very well. Once applied, it absorbs very fast. I like that it doesn't leave a sticky residue behind and it is not thick like some other moisturizers with SPF; I can apply it and do my makeup right away. You also get a lot of product in the jar yet a little goes a long way. If you have very dry skin then you may need to apply extra for more hydration.

Other benefits
*Fights free radicals
*Fights the signs of aging
*It can be used as a primer before applying makeup
*Helps prevent wrinkles
*Contains Antioxidants
*Paraben free
*Contains grape seed extract
*Contains other natural  ingredients including aloe

Merlot Night Cream

Applying night cream before bed is essential to good skin care. During sleep your body and your skin goes through a regeneration process and healing is sped up while you snooze. I always notice that after I pamper my skin at night I wake up with healthier, refreshed looking skin.

The Merlot night cream is thicker in consistency compared to the daily moisturizer but it still has the same great non-greasy formula. This cream smells similar to the moisturizer but is a lot less fragrant and the moisture that it provides lasts longer. The directions instruct that you apply it all over your face focusing on deep lines. I don’t have any wrinkles or lines on my face but taking preventative measures now is better than trying to treat it once the damage has been done.

After trying out this cream I have noticed that my skin looks radiant and moisturized in the morning. I start out the day with a nice even canvass for applying my makeup. Both the daily moisturizer and the night cream work well on my sensitive skin.

Other benefits:
*Contains natural grape seed
*Visibly reduce and reverse deep lines and wrinkles
*Promotes thicker skin
*Improves skin tone
*Help promote collagen formation and elasticity
*Contains avocado oil (I love avocado oil for moisturizing my skin as it contains beneficial healthy fats!)

Merlot Grape Seed Eye Cream

I am going to admit that I need an eye cream and use one every night before bed. Dark circles happen due to sleepless nights, long days and general fatigue. Dark circles are also genetic.

The Merlot eye cream is my favorite product in the line. It is very thick and the jar is very large for an eye cream. Usually eye creams come in small containers so with this eye cream you are definitely getting your money worth. As with the other creams a little goes a long way. Some of the ingredients in this product are primrose oil, grape seed extract, aloe, horse chestnut and biotin.

After using this cream for a few weeks I did noticed slight improvement in the darkness under my eyes which is more than I get from other eye creams I've been using. My eyes did look less tired in the morning but dark circles don't disappear overnight so they may take a while to diminish. Compared with the two other eye creams I was using I actually prefer the Merlot eye cream and have now added it to my nighttime  routine as has my husband.

Other benefits:
*Anti-wrinkle
*Reduces puffiness
*Reduces dark circles
*Antioxidants
*Suitable for all skin types

I would recommend trying these products if you have oil prone skin or if you are looking for a very light non-greasy moisturizer to wear under makeup. I would also recommend the eye cream to help reduce the appearance of darkness under the eyes.
