Sometimes it can be difficult to find good quality makeup at affordable prices. Shoppers Drug Mart is Canada's largest drugstore chain and many evenings I find myself roaming their isles to see what’s new in the world of beauty. Shoppers has a hidden gem that is not always easy to locate. Sometimes the display is nestled at the end of an isle, a few over from the makeup section but if you haven’t located essence cosmetics at your local Shoppers or Ulta Beauty (for all you Americans) I recommend doing so. Every time I'm in store I head straight for the essence display to see what’s new and I have purchased quite a bit from this brand since they first launched.
essence offers good quality cosmetics at incredibly affordable prices with items ranging from just $1.49 to $4.99. I have found some excellent items rummaging through the display.
Today I am going to review the essence long-lasting lipsticks available in 13 beautiful shades.
The lipsticks retail for just $2.99 each and have great pigmentation! The formula is creamy and glides on velvety smooth with a shiny finish. I like that they provide long-lasting hydration and contain castor seed oil to keep lips chap-free and supple. The packaging is simple yet chic and the texture and ease of application reminds me of the popular lipsticks by NYX. These gorgeous shades look and feel great on the lips so it is no wonder I have become a little obsessed!
The shades I have are:
Dare to be Nude
I don't wear much nude lipstick but this one is pretty! This shade is fantastic paired with bright eye shadows to tone down or balance a look. The color doesn't settle into creases or accentuate dryness.
On the Catwalk
On the Catwalk is a rich, red/berry hue that provides the allure of a red lipstick without harsh blue or orange undertones. I think this color is suitable for most skin tones from fair to deep and can transition from day to evening.
This is my favorite shade in the bunch! Wear Berries is a pink lipstick with purple undertones. I plan to wear this color throughout summer and right into fall!
Coral has been a popular summer trend for years! This soft orange coral looks wonderful on warm, sunny days.
Barely There is a darker nude with a hint of purple.
Every woman should own a stunning red lipstick and this shade is glamours, bright and light-weight.
Blush my Lips is a deep fuchsia.

These look sooo nice! Essence have started to come to the UK now from Europe so I'm really excited for these will definitely be hunting them down :) Love how the three shades you've shown look on you too, especially coral calling! xxReplyDelete
Oh good! I didn't know they hadn't arrived there. The long-lasting lippies are definitely my fav! I also like the twist up long lasting eye pencil and the single shadows.Delete
very lovely collection of the lipsticks , although the swatches kinda feels faded or may be for the light i guess! love the "blush my lips' one ♥ReplyDelete
Hmm that's weird the swatches look fine from where I'm viewing it but I did take the photos by the light so that everyone could appreciate the true colors, they do show up very nicely.Delete
Wow, these look so beautiful! I can't believe they're only $2.99!ReplyDelete
I know! I have lipsticks that cost way more and they aren't as nice...You should definitely try them if you find them in your area :)Delete

I know what you mean about the red lipstick, I have a ton of reds in all different shades! Have you swatched MAC's red? and there is the Kate Rimmel lipstick in the shade 01 that is amazing!! I believe i'ts in the black tube. I also like the Clarins Rouge Eclat Satin lipstick in the shade Passion Red, that one has an amazing formula and color.
Holy moly those are so bright!!! I love them all! I only have an Essence nail polish, and I love the formula! I really need to order some of these online! :)ReplyDelete
I have a ton of the polish too and my fav shade is Ultimate Pink but mine is drying out so I need to hunt down another. You should try these, many of the colors would look great on you!Delete
I've never tried essence lipsticks, I've swatched some (they didn't look like these ones) in a store, I don't know if I can find these ones here, but I will definitely look for them, love the pigmentation and colors <3ReplyDelete
Hmmm, well when I went to Europe I saw essence in Italy and in Spain and they did have a different selection of products and some of the same things as well. I Know essence also has a different line of lipsticks that aren't as bright as these, they have a sheer finish.Delete
