Mary Kay True Dimension Lipstick Review

This summer Mary Kay has launched some great new products and I recently reviewed the wonderfully fruity Triple Layer Tinted Balms. Today I have a review on the new luxuriously creamy True Dimension Lipsticks in an array of gorgeous shades!

The lipsticks provide good pigment with a buttery smooth texture and the formula is ideal for those who suffer from dry lips or prefer extra hydration. They drench lips in a blanket of rich, light-weight, long-lasting moisture with a touch of pouty shine.

The 20 beautiful shades ranging from neutral to bright is enough to entice any lipstick lover and the line contains some of the trendiest colors including: fuchsia, coral, orange and berry.

The formula nourishes lips with: castor seed oil, jojoba, sunflower, mango butter, meadowfoam, orange peel and shea butter. Because the lipsticks contain so many beneficial, natural oils I recommend keeping them in a cool dry place to prevent condensation.

The packaging is also very sleek and the lipsticks have an innovative new design. To open you push down on the top of the tube and the lipstick slides out, this mechanism provides secure closure.

I like the finish of the lipsticks; they provide just the right amount of color without being sticky and they seem to melt into lips with velvety softness. They also glide on consistently and mixing shades can create pretty customized colors!

Mary Kay Limited Edition Honeydew Satin Hands Pampering Set- Review

This season there are many trendy products and accessories for hands like bright nail lacquers and stacked rings so I like to keep mine in tip-top shape. Mary Kay has launched a limited edition Honeydew Pampering Satin Hand Set which includes: the Honeydew Smoothie Hand Scrub, Honeydew Hand Cream and the fragrance-free Hand Softener.

All the products in this collection have a lovely, natural melon scent which is fresh, light and deliciously sweet. They work together to improve the texture of skin for beautiful looking hands. I usually begin with the Honeydew Satin Smoothie Scrub which has a creamy formula infused with just the right amount of tiny exfoliating beads.

To use: simply rub the smoothie into hands and between fingers, rinse and pat dry. The abrasive intensity can be controlled by how hard you rub your hands, I recommend exfoliating gently and not rubbing for too long to prevent soreness. This product is not a hand wash and is not meant to replace soap but I would probably get more use out of it if it was.

The formula contains jojoba and removes dead skin cells to reveal soft, supple, renewed hands. I believe in getting the most out of my beauty products and since owning an exfoliate just for hands seems a bit unusual to me I also use this smoothie on my legs, arms and feet which works well.

Satin Hands Honeydew Hand Cream

The hand cream feels great after an exfoliating session and smells wonderful! I like that it absorbs quickly and is not greasy or sticky. It is also provides long-lasting hydration and is formulated to hold up after a few handwashings. The cream makes my hands feel soft and effectively eliminates dryness although the texture is a bit thin.
Satin Hands Fragrance-Free Hand Softener
The above two products are really all I need to care for my hands but the Hand Softener is ideal for very dry, rough skin or those who prefer a heavier product. The Softener has a thick, oily, balm consistency that feels and looks similar to Vaseline. The texture makes it a bit difficult to squeeze out of the tube and the consistency is not idea for other areas of the body like the legs arms and torso but it is great for dry spot treatments.

Because this product contains mineral oil and petroleum it does leave behind a heavy greasy film that tends to transfer but I think it would work great for those suffering from dry, cracked heels.

Overall this kit is decent for hands and feet and although I would have liked to see more natural ingredients it does make a nice gift package for both men and women.

The Satin Hands Kit retails for $51.00 and you can find it by clicking HERE

Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner - Review

A bright streak of green, indigo or pink eyeliner can really make eyes pop for playful summer looks. Colorful eyeliner is fun and trendy this season and Mary Kay has recently launched 4 fabulous shades. Since I love playing up my eyes with vibrant color I was excited to enhance my traditional winged liner with these bold beauties.

The dramatic shades contain a subtle hint of shimmer and are available in: Blue My Mind, Hello Violet, The Real Teal and Gold Metal. The applicator is thin and designed with a flexible tip for creating fluid, precise lines. The formula dries quickly for long-lasting color and although they are not categorized as waterproof they hold up well in damp and humid conditions. They are also smudge-proof and tend not to feather or bleed.

Although I love the colors, especially the gorgeous teal and blue, the formula applies inconsistently at first appearing thick in some areas and thinly transparent in others. Some shades are easier to work with than others and the teal liner tends to stain skin. To achieve solid pigmentation I go over my line a few times and once you have your line drawn the effect is pretty.

For those who are new to liquid liner or still in training mode, the applicators and formula is not the easiest to work with and takes a little patience to get the hang of. I recommend drawing on one layer, allowing the line to dry and then going over it with another layer, filling in spaces until the color appears consistent.

For a flashier look you can get creative and pair some of the shades together to create a multi-colored line or mix it up with different shades on the upper and lower lash lines! The liners retail for $12 each and you can find them on the website by clicking HERE.

Mary Kay Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balms Review

Mary Kay has been a well known, reliable brand for generations and this summer the line has launched some great new products in the realm of makeup, skin care and fragrances. Today I will review the new Mary Kay Triple Layer Tinted Balms.

Since I love wearing bright lipsticks and gloss I take good care of my lips. Lip balm is an essential beauty item in my purse and no matter where I am they are always easily accessible. These deliciously scented Triple Layer Balms provide quick relief of dryness plus a hint of subtle color to keep lips looking healthy and feeling supple!

The lip balms are available in 4 shades including: In the Plum, Atomic Red, Pink Again and Orange You Lovely. The outer layer provides juicy color while the inner two layers coat lips in a nourishing formula that deeply hydrates. I can’t get enough of the sweet, fruity scents and I like the shiny finish. Even though they are multi-layered application is consistent and in the tubes the colors don’t mix together and get messy.

The packaging and bright colors are appealing and the balms glide on buttery smooth and feel silky on the lips. Even though they are slightly tinted the color does not accentuate chapped lips and although the lasting power is good frequent application provides best results.

I think these are great for people of all ages and they are suitable for use all year round. I also like pairing them with bold eye shadows to balance dramatic makeup looks. The texture is light-weight and although they do provide shine they are non-sticky and feel very comfortable. These also work well under your favorite shade of lipstick to keep lips moist.

The balms retail for $12 each and since there is a lot of product per tube I think they are a great value. You can find them online by clicking HERE
