Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon: Review & Swatches

Lip Crayons are a great way to line, shape, define and accentuate your pout in one easy step because the slender point makes it easy to manoeuvre around the lip contour and neatly fill in the corners. Bite Beauty has a gorgeous collection of vivacious shades to compliment all skin tones and enhance your makeup. I love the retractable packaging – no sharpening = less product waste.

The color spectrum includes everything from subtle nudes, vibrant reds, sultry wines, trendy plums and even deep blackberry. I would classify the finish as semi-matte, the pigment is velvety and moist with a hint of scintillating shine to keep skin plush and hydrated. Instead of drying down completely, the crayons retain some creaminess which makes the color slightly more susceptible to transfer but much more comfortable on the lips. I still get a few hours of fade-proof wear before needing a touch-up and the supple shades appear smooth and polished. The pigmentation is buildable so you can adjust the saturation to create the perfect level of intensity.

When the tip starts to dull simply pop out the sharpener hidden in the colored end. Instead of shaving down the crayon it reshapes it so you always have a sharp point for superior precision. Licorice is my favorite shade in this bunch – it drenches lips in a dark berry stain that is suitable for all occasions.
TIP: To avoid breaking the tip don't wind the crayon down too much.

Molases is a great neutral for medium to deep skin tones and Sugarcane (the lighter nude) works well on fair to medium complexions. Black Truffle is a bit unconventional but dark lips are trendy for a night out and looks great with minimal eye makeup or sharp winged liner. The black is mixed with a hint of purple to make the color more wearable.

I didn't swatch the lightest nude since it doesn't really suit my skin tone and I might give it to a friend but I love the vividness and quality of the formula.

The Lip Crayons retail for $28.00 each and Bite Beauty is available exclusively at Sephora

Bite Beauty 2017 Holiday Collection & Gift Sets

My birthday is on Christmas Eve and I’m getting ready to take a long relaxing break. I’ve decided to end my holiday series on a high note with one of my favorite brands – Bite Beauty. If you saw my lipstick post a few weeks ago then you’ve already read my rave reviews about the brand but if not I’ll recap why their smooth, velvety finishes and rich pigments should be a staple in your makeup bag.

Bite products are handcrafted in small batches using a low heat process to ensure that the omega oils, vitamins, butters and nutrients are fresh and well preserved. Each formula is enriched with a luscious blend of moisturizers and skin conditioners to keep your pout supple, and protected without compromising on color.

Winter is a beautiful season but frigid temperatures can cause peeling, chapping and uncomfortable dryness. The Agave Lip Balm ($20.00) soothes on contact with a blend of rare Madagascar vanilla, shea butter, olive oil, jojoba, pomegranate and many other natural ingredients. The creamy balm glides on evenly and coats lips in a blanket of nourishing hydration to restore, heal and repair. It smells delicious, feels amazing and is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates making it a perfect travel essential and a great primer.

For a complete lip makeover I use the Agave Sugar Lip Scrub ($20.00) before moisturizing with the lip balm. This sweet exfoliant is enriched with pineapple enzymes and a variety of exotic oils that gently buff away rough skin and leave lips soft, smooth, conditioned and rejuvenated. It preps your pout for flawless lipstick application and keeps skin healthy all winter long. Together these two treatments make an incredible gift set.

The Amuse Bouche Liquefied Lip Set ($26.00) is a makeup lovers dream and if you haven’t tried the collection this is a good starting point. The box comes with 4 shades - Braised (rich berry), Flambé (bright tangerine) Demi-Glace (deep chocolate brown) and Whip (soft nude). I like the variety in this small kit, you get 2 bright shades that are flattering on all complexions and two neutrals – one for medium to deep skin and the other for fair.

Despite the tubes being so tiny, the applicator is a good size and the color glides on vibrant, full coverage and creamy with a hint of glossy shine. The formula is comprised of natural elements so the lipstick has a waxy scent (which I don’t mind) and the size makes them very portable. You can slip them into a pocket or small party clutch and the color lasts for hours.

The Champagne Discovery Set ($39.00) is a holiday trio for the eyes, lips and cheeks featuring a curated selection of bestsellers. The Cashew Multistick is a gorgeous nude even for people like me who don’t wear neutral lip colors very often and it comes with a matching liner for neatness and precision. The stick has a creamy matte finish which you can apply to the cheeks as a warm blush and on the eyes to tie the look together. I love the Champagne Pearl Crème Lip Gloss – the metallic finish is brilliant and shimmery for instant holiday glam. I use it to highlight the middle of my lips for an ombré effect and it looks amazing against deep purples and matte red. This set makes a wonderful gift for friends, family and secret Santa.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review – New Shades

My house is all decked-out for the holiday season, it’s Thursday afternoon which means Friday is on the horizon and tonight I’m making cheesy pasta and watching Christmas movies. The only thing that could make today even better is new lipstick! I know what you’re thinking (doesn’t this girl have enough lipstick) and the answer to that is no...maybe...probably but who cares! When it comes to top beauty brands I’ve tried just about every lip formula out there and Bite Beauty is one of my all-time faves. I just can’t get enough of the bold, beautiful shades and rich, sultry finishes. They glide on buttery smooth and the pigmentation is out of this world!

I’ve never been to the Bite Beauty Lab but I’m sure I could live there because they definitely know how to make amazing lipstick. The shades I’m featuring today may not necessarily be new releases (there are 34 colors available) but they are new to my collection.

If you haven’t read my previous article about how incredible this formula is let’s do a quick recap. Bite lipsticks are hand-crafted in small batches using a low heat process to ensure that the omega oils, vitamins, butters and nutrients are fresh and well preserved to retain their nutritional value. Each scintillating shade is enriched with a nourishing, skin quenching blend of castor oil, jojoba, shea butter, argan, sesame, sunflower, grape seed, olive oil and other emollients that drench your pout in loads of creamy, supple moisture.

I prefer bright, vivid color or deep sexy tones and for the holiday season these 3 hues are showstoppers. Spiced Plum is a stunning bronze with light reflecting shimmer that makes lips look ethereal. If you’re going for a golden Goddess look this shade is perfect. Cayenne is a fiery red that is very trendy for the fall/winter season and great for Christmas parties. Liquorice is a gorgeous blend of deep berry and wine that looks great on all skin tones and creates a dark vampy effect.

I don’t usually go for the neutral shades but these are quite flattering. Gingersnap is a peachy-pink that reminds me of spring flowers – very soft and feminine. Pepper is a lovely caramel brown that creates a nude effect on my skin tone and Sugar Cane is a great nude for lighter complexions.

Most of these colors have a semi-satin finish with subtle shine but Gingersnap is a creamy matte. The lipsticks retail for $30.00 each and Bite Beauty is available at Sephora.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Review

Hi I’m Erica and I’m a lipstick addict, it’s been 5 hours since my last haul... (all joking aside) it is true, out of all the amazing products I test and review on a daily basis lipsticks and eye shadows are my absolute faves! There is nothing more satisfying than finishing a great eye look and applying a knock-out lip color to complete the effect. No matter how dull my skin seems or how gloomy the day, I know that just a few swipes of vibrant lipstick will brighten my face with amazing color and make my lips appear pouty and full.

Bite Beauty is well known for their selection of captivating hues and luscious formulas so I picked out two irresistible shades that cater to the deep, sultry lip trend. The lighter of the two is Beetroot - a rich berry infused with deep red. For those seeking a signature red without blue or orange undertones, this color may be for you! The berry pigment makes the red universally flattering and although it does look quite deep, it transcends all season! Wearing a bold, sexy shade like this definitely makes me feel more put-together and confident.

The darker shade called Jam is a rich merlot with dark violet undertones. When you want to amp-up your pout on those warm, romantic summer nights this shade is fabulous and it may even be my new go-to lipstick for fall! The flirtatious wine pigment makes lips appear provocative and kissably plush plus with the right attitude anyone can pull it off.

Bite’s signature formula is incredible! The pigmentation is intense, rich and tripled milled to enhance color purity for saturated coverage in just one swipe and a semi-matte, satin finish. The texture is smooth and creamy yet adheres well for long-lasting color. For more of a matte finish you can blot to remove some shine or add gloss if you crave more. Because the lipsticks are so heavily pigmented they do stain and transfer quite heavily when eating or drinking. To avoid mess I usually just wipe it off before meals and then reapply a fresh coat. Layered over lip primer they hold up even better and tend not to feather or bleed.

These high performance lipsticks are handcrafted in small batches which allows for control and attention to detail while preserving the natural ingredients. Each is infused with a blend of 12 edible oils including: Castor Seed, Jojoba, Shea, Argan, Sunflower, Grape Seed Extract, Olive, Avocado, Apricot, Coconut Almond and vitamins for nourishing, weightless coverage. Lips are quenched and moisturized in conditioning, organic butters to keep them soft, supple and healthy.

Simply put, these lipsticks are amazing! They retail for $30.00 each and you can find Bite Beauty exclusively at Sephora.
