NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Lipstick | Review & Swatches

It’s Friday afternoon, I’m in a good mood and last night I actually got 8 hours of sleep (hallelujah!). I’m ready for an evening out on the town – maybe a little jazz at a cozy club and a delicious meal with my hubby at one of Toronto’s trendy eateries.

If you’re bored of office appropriate nudes, why not spice up your look with a little sparkle? The NYX Glitter Goals Liquid Lipstick ($12.00) is bold, bright and metallic – think Halloween night meets disco ball chic.

Like most NYX lippies, these are quite easy to apply. The thick cream glides on full-coverage with an even distribution of brilliant glitter.

The bright pink (Reflector) is my favorite shade and seems to have the highest shimmer concentration. I have no idea what to do with the charcoal grey (Alienated) but if I ever go to a heavy metal concert, I’ll probably fit right in. The orange and red hues are more subdued but the finish is still intense. These are definitely not everyday lip colors but they do look mesmerizing.

My main issue with the formula is the annoying mess! By the end of the day, glitter particles are scattered around my face and some even end up in my mouth (note to self: remember not to lick your lips with this stuff on). Reapplying is no easy feat but when the color dries it lasts much longer, just make sure to let it set.

If I’m attending an awesome party where I don’t expect to eat or drink, these are fine but once you consume greasy food, everything slides right off and then it’s glitter palooza! The texture is okay, but don’t expect lots of moisture.

As someone who is usually too lazy to use lip liner, I had much better luck with the Line & Load Lippies ($9.00). The ultra thin applicator is designed to create killer definition and if you’re really creative, try some lip art or mix and match your favorite shades for a gorgeous ombre effect.

It usually takes a few dips to pick up enough pigment for complete coverage but I love the creamy matte color and filling in my lips takes just a few seconds. There may be some transfer and bleeding (especially during meals) but the lightweight finish is quite comfortable and doesn’t leave my skin feeling parched.

The classic red (Biker Babe) is my jam but I’m not really into the nude shade (Never Listen). It looks like foundation and completely washes me out.

You can't really see the glitter in the swatches below but rest assure that you'll be getting a lot of glitz.

Maui Moisture Hair Care Review: Detoxify, Hydrate and Repair

I’ve spotted Maui Moisture in drugstores countless times and their colorful smoothie-like bottles have always intrigued me. I don’t know why it took me so long to connect with the brand (at this point I’ve tried just about everything) but it is has quickly become one of favorites!

The vegan formulas are gentle and free of mineral oil, silicones, parabens, gluten, sulfates and synthetic dye. I love that the first ingredient is 100% aloe juice and there are 6 amazing ranges to choose from.

The Volcanic Ash Collection detoxifies and deep cleanses dull, congested hair with extra charcoal powder whipped right into the formula. This is a great line if you want to get rid of heavy leave-ins, gel, hairspray, oil, serum and whatever else you layer on during the week.

With an invigorating blend of citrusy bergamot oil, coconut water and ginger extract, the shampoo ($10.99) removes build-up, sweat, pollutants and dirt without stripping or damaging fine strands. The lather is light, refreshing and fragrant – great for people with heat damage or sensitive scalp.

The conditioner ($10.99) smells incredible – like a warm tropical breeze wafting through Hawaiian palm trees. The lush cream coats fragile cuticles to help detangle, hydrate, improve texture, and fortify breaking ends. I usually leave it on for 5-10 minutes in the shower and it makes my hair feel wonderful! Use the Volcanic Ash deep conditioner for even more suppleness.

If you suffer from dry skin, dandruff or delicate hair, shea butter should definitely be part of your beauty routine. The Revive and Hydrate Hair Mask ($10.99) is whipped to perfection with a rejuvenating blend of coconut, shea and macadamia oils.

If your strands are breaking, shedding or splitting, apply the rich cream generously and leave it on for at least 30 minutes to quench, replenish and soften. I usually treat my hair for 3 hours (especially before heat styling) to significantly improve texture, manageability, shine and resiliency.

I also have the Shea Butter Body Wash ($10.99) which I am absolutely obsessed with! The bottle is large, the scent is addicting and the consistency is luxurious. Drizzle some on your bath puff and let the silky bubbles renew and refresh dry skin without residue. A little goes a long way and after a relaxing shower, my entire body feels velvety smooth.

According to the stylists at L’Oreal Paris who tested my strands for durability, my hair is very healthy (little to no damage) but I still prefer products that are formulated to revitalize and rehydrate. If you have chemical damage from over-processing or dye, the Agave Mask ($10.99) is your best bet.

Infused with hibiscus and pineapple, the sumptuous conditioner mends weak areas while increasing elasticity to prevent breakage, split-ends and fraying. Before blow drying, flat ironing, crimping or curling, apply an even coat to strengthen and prepare hair for heat styling. Deep conditioning regularly makes a substantial difference in the overall health of your hair.

Maui Moisture is available at drugstores and major retailers across Canada. Visit the website at ca.mauimoisture.com

4 Skin Renewing Booster Drops You Need to Try

I’ll try just about anything to keep my complexion youthful and radiant so recently I’ve been incorporating booster drops in my daily routine. If you’ve never used boosters, you are missing out on amazing anti-aging ingredients that fortify and rejuvenate damaged cells.

These supercharged formulas are designed to enhance the effectiveness of your favorite skincare products with a concentrated dose of essential vitamins, oils, antioxidants and powerful botanical extracts. Simply add 2-3 drops in your cream, serum, face oil or foundation to revive and nourish tired looking skin.

Over the last few months I’ve written several articles outlining the importance of starting a collagen regimen to counteract the effects of pollution, poor lifestyle choices and genetics. Collagen is an essential protein that supports muscles, bones, digestion, tendons, blood vessels and connective tissue but as it depletes, skin begins to slacken, sag and wrinkle. The best defense is an early offense which includes dietary collagen supplements like Sproos in combination with potent topical treatments.

Rodial's Collagen Drops ($89.00) diminish visible signs of aging by re-densifying, strengthening, plumping and supporting elasticity. Shake well and add 2-3 drops to cleansed skin paying particular attention to expression lines. Once dry, apply moisturizer as needed.

The formula is 30% soluble collagen with an oil-serum texture that absorbs quickly to lift and soften. I love the natural botanical scent and the healing emollients lock-in moisture to prevent peeling, sensitivity and environmental damage. There is no greasiness or residue so you can use it as primer for seamless makeup application.

I use the Glycolic Booster Drops ($89.00) to resurface and refine large pores. The formula is comprised of 10% glycolic acid and AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) – a natural exfoliant derived from sugary fruits. Once applied, the regenerating complex gently sheds surface cells to blur wrinkles and even pigmentation.

The active ingredients also alleviate inflammation and acne flare-ups while fading discoloration, dark spots and scars. In my case it helps eliminate fine bumps and roughness to make my complexion and makeup appear smooth, radiant and clear.

Another booster that will definitely amp-up your beauty routine is the Fresh Seaberry Skin Nutrition Drops ($62.00) designed to be mixed with face and eye creams for a surge of antioxidants. The luxurious blend is packed with lycopene – a tomato extract used to fight free radical damage, omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, camellia seed, rosemary, apricot oil, sunflower and seaberry oil to retain moisture. The lightweight formula is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates with a non-sticky, dewy finish that makes my skin look fresh and glowy. It is also known to calm redness, prevent acne and rehydrate dry patches.

Mix the booster into hand cream to heal damaged cuticles and brittle nails or add a few drops in your mud mask to enhance detoxification and smooth fine lines around the eyes and mouth.

By now most people understand the importance of a good skincare routine but what about your lips? If you’ve been neglecting your pout it’s time to add one more step to your beauty routine.

The Fresh Beauty Sugar Lip Wonder Drops ($32.00) gently exfoliates and re-texturizes chapped skin with nourishing hibiscus extract. It also smooths, refines and primes but the finish is not very hydrating so I apply Rodial’s Reshape and Rejuvenate Lip Treatment ($40.00) in generous layers. This luscious formula is enriched with 24K gold to boost collagen production, firm and condition with a blend of shea butter and rose extract.

Sometimes a few simple steps greatly improve the resiliency and clarity of your complexion. You can find Rodial at Shoppers Drug Mart or online at beauty.shoppersdrugmart.ca and Fresh is available at Sephora and sephora.ca.

Avon True Color Nourishing Lipstick Review | NEW Shades

Over the years I’ve accumulated a lot of Avon lipsticks and I love giving them as gifts. This beautiful collection has something for all ages, seasons and occasions no matter what your style.

Most ladies in my family have already found their signature shade (mine is Hot Plum) and for just $10.00 each, you can experiment with trendy color that keeps your lips in tip-top shape.

Avon has recently released 12 addictive new shades that range from deep burgundy, berry, magenta, bright coral, rose, bombshell red and nude. The undertones are beautifully balanced to compliment a wide variety of skin tones and the formula is infused with jojoba oil and marine collagen to plump, soften and smooth fine lines.

Because the texture is so satiny, the pigments glide on effortlessly with a pop of voluptuous shine. Even when my lips feel dry, chapped and in no mood for lipstick, the supple color drenches my pout in luscious moisture that alleviates discomfort.

In the red and burgundy zone (from left to right) you have: Red Delicious, Black Cherry, Cognac Riche and Blood Orange. These pretty hues remind me of autumn and they are great for everyday wear.

Application is ridiculously easy (it literally takes seconds), but if you crave definition, Avon also makes creamy lip liners ($9.00 ea) that prevent feathering and prolong wear.

The pink - plum spectrum is my personal fave.

Fresh Fig, Dragon Fruit Blush and Concord Grape.

Saturation is versatile, vibrant and buildable (sheer to medium coverage) but like most glossy finishes, the color transfers easily. I usually reapply a few times throughout the day (depending on how much I eat or drink) but each coat makes my pout feel plush and healthy – similar to a healing lip balm.

If you’re going for a fresh-faced look, try Toasted Cashew or Raspberry Rose.

The spreadable consistency makes it easy to mix and match. Layer your favorite bright with your favorite medium or deep tone and see what custom color you create!

Feeling the spring vibes? Brighten your complexion with Persimmon Pink. Some shades leave behind a pretty stain that can be removed with a good cleanser.

CeraVe SA Skincare Review

Developing an effective skincare routine involves a lot of trial and error. We read reviews, test samples and try all the latest trends but sometimes success comes from a balance of simple ingredients rather than a $400 miracle cream. Although many people compliment my complexion, it isn’t flawless. With the help of makeup I can cover and conceal but I’d like to have problem-free skin that glows without the help of cosmetics.

Last summer I developed some fine bumps along my jaw and lower cheeks. The usually flare-up in humidity and during travel when my skin is most vulnerable. You can’t really see them unless you get up close but they make my complexion appear uneven, especially when foundation and powder settles on top.

I tried many products designed to smooth and perfect but the bumps were persistent and popped up whenever they pleased. After months of searching for a solution I finally discovered CeraVe and my skin looks better than ever!

I start with the SA Cleanser ($17.99) to dissolve makeup, oil, pollutants and dirt. The formula contains salicylic acid, ceramides and antioxidants that exfoliate without harsh microbeads. The detoxifying lather gently sloughs away rough surface cells, product build-up and blemish causing bacteria that can clog pores. After rinsing, my face feels refreshed and soft without dryness or sticky residue.

The Renewing SA Cream ($24.99) alleviates so many skin ailments that it is often recommended by dermatologists. It deeply moisturizes severe dryness, calms itching, softens roughness and smooths bumpy areas.

The active ingredients include:

*Cetearyl Alcohol (fatty alcohol/emollient derived from plants) – conditions, protects and softens.

*5 Ceramides that replenish natural lipids to help skin retain water, diminish signs of aging, shield from pollution and eliminate bacteria.

*Hyaluronic Acid – absorbs 1,000 times its weight in water to keep skin lubricated and healthy. It also firms, tones and reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

*Salicylic Acid – gently exfoliates rough skin, purifies pores and helps prevent/treat breakouts.

*Lactic Acid – renews surface cells.

*Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) – improves the appearance of enlarged pores, evens skin tone, brightens and fortifies.

The Cream comes in a large jar and has a rich texture (a little goes a long way). It actually feels more like a lush body cream than a face moisturizer but you can use it everywhere. I apply a thick layer before bed and top it off with a rejuvenating serum to create a supple, non-greasy night mask. Results are not evident until approximately 30 minutes after application when the warmth from my skin melts the ingredients into an ultra-hydrating velvety finish that feels incredible. A thin layer can also be used during the day and under makeup.

I usually experience mild stinging with each application (probably due to all the acids) but the cream does not cause irritation and the sensation disappears within minutes. If you notice tingling, refrain from using the SA Cream after clinical procedures, microdermabrasion or abrasive exfoliation.

No other product has transformed my complexion as quickly as this one. After three weeks the bumps are indistinguishable and my skin is remarkably soft, radiant, replenished, dewy, plump and clear. My makeup looks amazing because my face is so smooth and the regenerating properties have faded blemishes and discoloration. It also seems to prevent dark spots and ingrown hair after waxing, threading, plucking or trimming.

Many people also claim that the SA Cream helps prevent acne. Occasionally I get hormonal pimples that are red and flat (nothing to pop or squeeze). These particular spots cannot be prevented with topical products but the cream seems to fade them much faster. It is also known to eliminate blackheads and whiteheads, heal sun damage, balance oil production and treat symptoms of keratosis pilaris, eczema and psoriasis.

The SA Renewing Lotion ($17.99) contains most of the same ingredients with a lighter consistency. There is no heavy fragrance and it helps smooth bumpy patches no matter where they are – shins, bum, thighs, knees, arms and ashy elbows.

Use it after shaving to prevent razor bumps and ingrown hair along the bikini line. It keeps me hydrated from head-to-toe for 24 hours and works wonders on dry hands, nails and feet. By the time I took these photos the entire bottle was finished!

Urban Decay Game Of Thrones Collection | Review and Swatches

There are just three days left until we finally find out who takes the Iron Throne and I’m anticipating drama, suspense, violence and betrayal. The final season of Game Of Thrones airs on HBO this Sunday and fans everywhere are preparing for an epic battle. I’m hoping Daenerys and Jon will take King's Landing with Tyrion by their side but I doubt things will end so amicably.

With ice breathing dragons, White Walkers and lusty secrets yet to be exposed, this exciting tale of power, greed and love will probably conclude with a surprising twist.

Just in time for the premiere, Urban Decay has created a beautiful makeup collection inspired by our favorite characters, heroes and villains. The regal jewel-tone shimmers capture the intensity of House Lannister, Stark and Targaryen as they face the White Walkers wrath – represented by icy metallics.

The queen of this collection is definitely the keepsake pop-up book palette which features the Iron Throne and quotes from the series. It also includes 4 lipsticks inspired by our leading ladies, a soft Cheek Tint, 4 gorgeous eyeliners, 2 brushes and the Mother of Dragons Highlight Palette.

When it comes to daring shimmers, no one does it better than Urban Decay. This stunning Eye Shadow Palette ($77.00) has something for everyone – frosty silver, matte red, radiant gold, intense purple, scintillating emerald and an icy teal I’m dying to show-off.

The 4 circular shades at the bottom are holographic transformers which can be applied over the shadows to alter their color and finish for more versatility. Bay of Dragons is sheer and a tad inconsistent but the others are dense and buttery. Personally, I'd prefer two more rows of eye shadow but these modifying overlays seem to be a new trend for the brand.

The eye shadow tray slides all the way out for easy access so you can hold it like a painter’s palette while perfecting your look using the large mirror.

Most of the shades are shimmery (some more than others) but the finishes range from dramatic to neutral with rich velvety textures and bold saturation. Like most UD pigment, the quality is excellent although the glittery finishes (Dothraki and Stormborn) tend to flake and create some fallout.

Layer the shadows to enhance vividness and use UD's Primer Potion to prolong wear. I had no issue with creasing or fading and the creamy mattes blend effortlessly.

Most of the pigments standout as main lid colors so you may have to reach into your UD vault for a few supporting shades. Other than that, the selection is very flattering with a nice mix of cool and warm.

The lipstick packaging is eye-catching and elegant but the shades are quite similar to previous UD releases. The dark burgundy, shimmery red and deep gold have great color payoff with a hint of hydrating shine. Sansa Stark (peachy nude), is sheer, glossy and a bit too slick. I wish UD would formulate some creamy, full-coverage matte lipsticks with a powdery finish but these are nice.

I’m not really sure what to think of the Lip & Cheek Stain ($35.00). The pigment is liquid-y, thin and sheer - so sheer that it disappears into my skin without a trace. If I squint really hard I can make out a faint tint but I find it messy and ineffective.

If you’re planning to buy some cheek color, go for the Mother of Dragons Highlight Palette instead ($45.00). It cost just $10.00 more and you get 3 luminous shades: Drogon (frosted pink), Viserion (metallic golden nude) and Rhaegal (metallic bronze). The buildable powders are highly pigmented, smooth and brilliant for a radiant glow that catches the light.

The 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils ($26.00 ea) match the shadows to complete your eye look. They apply effortlessly without drag to create the perfect line along the top and bottom lashes. Once the color sets, it stays put all day without running or smudging. I use UD liners all the time and they even hold up in humid climates.

This glorious collection will be available on:
*April 14th – Urban Decay freestanding stores and urbandecay.ca
*May 2nd – Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart stores

Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care Review

Whether I’m traveling to Asia, Europe or the Caribbean, I always pack products that replenish my hair after a long, dehydrating flight. My suitcase is usually well stocked with a selection of Garnier shampoos and conditioners that restore brittle strands, put the bounce back in my curls and smell amazing! The collection is very affordable and accessible at drugstores throughout Canada and the U.S.

One of my favorite paraben-free, vegan blends is Almond & Argan Riches. This line is formulated to nourish, soften and tame fragile cuticles. The creamy texture and soothing aloe alleviates dry scalp and if you use heat or hair color, the reparative ingredients mend damaged areas to prevent breakage.

Shampoo and Conditioner - $4.88 each

After shampooing and detangling with the lush conditioner, I use the silicone-free Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) to deeply moisturize, strengthen, soften and enhance shine. Curly girls and those who air dry will love the Leave-In Balm ($6.96). Simply apply a small amount to damp hair for extra suppleness, frizz control and split-end protection.

Oat Delicacy is the newest collection launched by the brand. This line is formulated for sensitive scalp and delicate hair that requires extra care. Infused with oat and rice milk, the products hydrate and rejuvenate fine strands without weighing them down.

The shampoo eliminates oil, dirt and build-up without stripping and the conditioner's revitalizing emollients revive color and prevent limpness.

Shampoo and Conditioner - $4.88 each

The Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) is a bit light for long, thick hair like mine but when used as regular conditioner my ends feel silky smooth. This collection also includes a Dry Shampoo ($6.96) to eliminate greasiness and stale odors between wash days and a wonderful Detangling Milk ($6.96) to undo pesky knots and maintain luminosity without stickiness.

Although these products are ideal for sensitive hair they are heavily fragranced. The captivating scent lingers for days and catches the attention of everyone I pass.

If you can’t escape to the tropics anytime soon, the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk Collection may be the next best thing. The lightweight formula quenches thirsty strands with natural extracts so your locks appear healthy and vibrant. It also improves texture, body and manageability for more movement and shine.

Shampoo and Conditioner - $4.88 each

Honey Treasures is enriched with royal jelly and propolis to heal and protect stressed strands. The shampoo gently purifies and soothes flaky scalp while foaming away pollutants, oil and irritating particles that get trapped around the roots.

The conditioner rehabilitates damaged lengths by reinforcing the fiber, hydrating and preventing breakage. It provides enough slip to detangle without discomfort and I’ve noticed less shedding.

Shampoo and Conditioner - $4.88 each

If you get this collection I highly recommend the Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) for extra silkiness. It tames flyaways, smooths ragged ends and prepares hair for heat styling.

Before blow drying and flat ironing, use the Restoring 10-In-One Leave-In Miracle Nectar ($6.97). The light spray locks-in moisture, detangles, repairs, prevents frizz and shields against heat damage up to 230˚C / 450˚F.

Garnier Whole Blends is available at drugstores nationwide including Walmart.

Lise Watier K-Beauty Skincare | 4-Step Cleansing Routine

When it comes to developing an efficient skincare routine, Korean women are showing the world how it’s done. K-Beauty is a trendy ideology based on health, hydration, cleansing and brightening. The objective is to achieve a clear, flawless complexion that needs no concealer or corrector.

To enhance your daily regimen, Lise Watier has teamed up with a laboratory in Korea to create a 4-step beauty ritual that purifies and balances. The products are enriched with highly concentrated natural ingredients and conditioning emollients that extract bacteria and prevent blemishes.

Step 1: Deep Cleanse
The Deep Cleansing Oil ($35.00) gently dissolves dirt and makeup with a moisturizing blend of sweet almond oil, avocado, coconut, babassu and macadamia. As you massage the lush oil into your skin, it loosens foundation, waterproof formulas and stubborn pigments while nourishing, soothing and softening. Add water to emulsify and transform the cleanser into a light milk that rinses away product build-up.

Step 2: Cleanse
Double-cleansing is a great way to detoxify your pores and prevent breakouts. The first lather breaks down excess sebum produced during the day and removes the oil/fillers in makeup, moisturizer and sunscreen. Once that barrier is disintegrated, you can effectively eliminate pollutants and bacteria lodged in the deeper dermal layers.

The Cooling Foam Cleanser ($26.00) is a satin cream that transforms into rich foam upon contact with water. It contains oat, elm, artichoke extract and menthol to leave skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. The formula is not particularly hydrating but it lathers well and removes all traces of makeup residue and dirt to enhance the absorption of cream and serum.

Step 3: Exfoliate
Most dermatologists recommend exfoliation 2-3 times per week but due to sensitivity I can only perform this step once a week.

This paraben-free formula ($26.00) is infused with fragrant rose petals that heal and moisturize while sugar crystals gently remove dead skin, smooth roughness and improve tone, radiance and clarity. The base is thick and slightly sticky so it works best on damp skin. Even though the granules are quite substantial, they are non-abrasive and suitable for all skin types.

After cleansing and exfoliating, my skin feels soft, smooth, renewed and purged of all blemish-causing debris.

Step 4: Tone
The Soothing Rose Petal Gel Toner ($26.00) is my favorite product in the line. It refreshes, protects, calms irritation and removes toxins without parabens or drying alcohols. Unlike most toners, the rich gel is dense and hydrating rather than liquid-y so it traps dirt and pollutants on the face, neck and décolletage to revive your natural glow (no need to rinse).

On busy workdays I don’t always have time for a 4 step cleansing routine so I adjust the process to suit my schedule and skin. Sometimes I leave out step one and three and other times I only need step two.

Lise Watier is available at shoppers Drug Mart, department stores (including The Bay) and online at lisewatier.ca

Conair Bun-2-Done Hair Styling Bun Maker and Infinity Pro 3Q Blow Dryer Review

On busy mornings I don't have time for intricate hairstyles but a high bun looks professional, sleek and sophisticated – like I'm ready to put on a power suit and take on the world. Over the years many brands have made products to create trendy updos but Conair has taken it a step further.

Bun-2-Done ($69.99) is not your average styling tool. This multi-purpose device comes with 6 flexible rods (2 medium and 4 long) that sit inside a purple base and heat up quickly. While your hair is piled atop your head in the perfect donut shaped bun, the warm rod adds texture, body and bounce - gradually styling as you tackle your workday. In the evening, simply unravel the bun to reveal soft flowing waves that are perfect for a night out.

Bun-2-Done takes up minimal counter space and since the wands are not scorching hot they don't cause heat damage. I have no problem handling them right out of the machine but you can use heat resistant gloves just in case.

Put your hair in a ponytail, place the rod at the ends and roll up or down (like the diagram below). Once you reach the top, snap the rod ends together to form a perfect O and pull your hair around it. Each wand is lined with rubber gripping dots to ensure that most strands wrap neatly but it takes practice to perfect, especially if you have layers.

For long thick hair snap 2 rods together to make an extra long roller (no clips or pins required). Create multiple buns or cute half-up half-down looks for all occasions.

For immediate waves (when I don’t want to wear a bun), I usually leave the rods in the base for a bit longer to ensure they are hot enough to create well formed curls. With no digital readout and only one switch, there is no way to adjust the heat or know the exact temperature. The orange light indicates power but does not change color when the wands are ready to be used.

Start by sectioning your hair into 6 segments (1 per rod) and roll each section into a mini bun. If they loosen, hang down or get in your way, secure with claw clips.

I usually leave the buns in while getting ready and eating breakfast. The longer they set, the tighter your curls will be. If you want even more definition, apply a bit of heat using the Conair Infinity Pro 3Q Blow Dryer. Simply pass the warm air over each twist for a couple minutes to speed up the process. I usually unroll them just before leaving home and apply some serum to make the tendrils extra shiny (no hairspray required).

During the day my curls loosen into cascading messy waves which I tousle to maintain body and volume. My roots and lengths appear full and lifted.

Another styling tool I love is the Conair Infinity Pro 3Q Blow Dryer ($89.97). I used to think all hairdryers were created equal but thermal technology has advanced to improve styling results.

This lightweight pink dryer features heat protect brushless technology engineered to dry hair faster with up to 70% more air pressure. There are two buttons – one with 3 heat settings and another with 2 speeds to control force. For thick hair this feature is amazing! The air blasts out in a steady, powerful stream that makes styling much easier. You can also use the cool setting to reduce heat exposure.

The dryer also has a built to last AC motor, ionic ceramic technology with infrared heat and frizz defense conditioning ions to enhance shine and create a smooth, silky finish. The cold shock button helps lock your style in place and there are 2 diffuser attachments to create volume and bounce.

Conair is available at Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, amazon.ca, Shoppers Drug Mart, Canadian Tire and conaircanada.ca.
