As many of you know Pantone has released their color of the year, setting the tone for many new trends in 2016. One of my past favorites was Radiant Orchid and I was
even digging last year's Marsala shade but I’m not quite sure how I feel about the two new hues. My hesitancy is probably due to the fact that the pink-rose and
light blue reminds me of a baby shower theme, although I'm not totally giving up on them just yet. Their soft pastel undertones may be just what we need to thaw out this winter and transition into spring.
I’ve been browsing the web to see how people have paired and
used these hues and the creativity has impressed me. They seem to work well in
fashion, decor and weddings but I’m still not convinced they will suit me. Admittedly I do find the colors a little...blah and you won't catch me decked out in them from head-to-toe but I am willing to use them as accent shades.
I appreciate the theme behind the new hues as they are meant to evoke calmness, wellness, peace, tranquility and balance which may be just what we all need to start off the year.

Let's take a moment to review a few of the colors that made the trend list in recent years
Will I be wearing these serene shades this year...maybe, if
I find pieces that inspire me to embrace the trend but until then I
think I'll stick with the bright colors and deep, rich hues I prefer...at least when
it comes to makeup and clothes.
What do you think of this year’s color choices?
