Pamper Yourself with Nivea’s Hydrating Body Care Collection

Being stuck at home during the pandemic is not all bad. I’ve been making more time to pamper myself, exercise and test healthy recipes. I’ve also been putting together spa gift baskets to help friends and family get through this difficult time. Receiving products to enhance your self-care routine can be very uplifting and everyone loves Nivea.

As I’ve said before, enjoying a hot, steamy shower (or bubble bath) eases tension and relaxes the body. On humid days, a cool shower can refresh and rejuvenate, especially before bed.

Wild Berries and Hibiscus with Nourishing Serum is one of my favorite body washes. The delicious fruit fragrance fills your bathroom with the scent of summer and the paraben-free formula is loaded with nourishing plant oils, essential lipids and vitamins to cleanse and soften dry skin.

If you prefer a soothing scent, try Care and Coconut Hydration with jojoba seed oil. The silky, moisturizing foam rinses away sweat and impurities for a smooth, supple finish.

We might not be wearing much makeup these days (with the exception of virtual meetings) but daily cleansing is still important. In the spa baskets I’ve included:

-Niveal 3-in-1 Cleansing Wipes ($9.49) with no added colorants, perfume or alcohol. These soft cloths gently remove makeup, excess oil, pollutants and pore clogging debris trapped within pores.

-Nivea MicellAir Skin Breathe ($9.49) with black tea extract removes heavy, long-lasting makeup, waterproof mascara and lipstick stains with no residue or stickiness. The cool, refreshing liquid attracts impurities, bacteria and oil like a magnet to help prevent blemishes.

-Nivea Gentle Eye Makeup Remover ($9.49) is a must if you love eye shadow as much as I do. It wipes away vibrant pigment, glitter, eyeliner and waterproof mascara without irritation.

My family loves Nivea body creams and a few summer must-haves include:

-Coconut and Monoi Oil Body Lotion ($11.49) - great for extra dry, dull skin that needs a boost of radiance. It provides 24 hours of deep moisture to soothe, soften and protect. Tip: apply a thin layer after shaving for a healthy glow.

-If you plan to wear sun dresses, shorts and tank top this season, Nivea’s Advanced Firming Milk ($11.49) with Q10, creatine, macadamia oil and L-carnitine improves elasticity so your body appears tight and toned. Of course you’ll still need exercise and a balanced diet but the cream helps you look even better!

-If you dislike feeling hot and sweaty during the summer, try Nivea’s Care Collection. These lightweight, intensely hydrating formulas come in travel-friendly packaging and the non-greasy finish is great for humid days. The tube contains a fast absorbing face, body and hand lotion suitable for sensitive skin. I keep the large jar in my bathroom to use after showering and it never makes me feel slick or sticky on hot days.

Speaking of warm summer days, don’t forget your deodorant! For those sensitive to certain ingredients I recommend Nivea’s Natural Comfort Aluminum Free Deodorant with 48 hour odor protection.

For formal occasions and everyday wear, Nivea’s Black & White Invisible Dry Spay Anti-Perspirant minimizes white marks and yellow stains on clothing.

Nivea Urban Skin Detox Collection Review

As I make my way around the city for the Toronto International Film Festival, I will be attending media events, gifting lounges and red carpet parties including a fancy producer’s ball. I am also preparing for a weekend trip to Niagara Falls and an anniversary trip to Europe.

With all the traveling and late nights, I need products that effectively defend my skin against pollution and keep my complexion radiant, clear and healthy.

Nivea’s Urban Detox Collection includes cleansers, moisturizers and masks designed for busy people. The revitalizing formulas help fight the damaging effects of pollution so you can tackle your day with confidence.

The 3-In-1 White Clay Cleanser ($11.99) with organic green tea saves me a lot of time. It functions as a wash, mask and scrub that quickly removes impurities morning, noon and night. Leave it on for 3-5 minutes to detox and unclog pores. The micro-fine exfoliating granules buff away dead cells so your face feels smooth, supple and refreshed.

The Day Moisturizer ($11.99) contains SPF 20 which is enough for me since my It Cosmetics Foundation contains SPF 40. The cream is extremely lightweight, fast absorbing and non-greasy with a 48 hour moisture boost complex that nourishes dry skin. I love the fragrance, texture and finish. It works well under makeup, never makes me look greasy and protects against free radicals that cause wrinkles and dark spots.

The Skin Detox Clay Masks ($11.49) are available in a Purifying formula and a mattifying peel-off. The first contains white clay and magnolia to abolish dirt, bacteria and pollutants trapped deep within your pores. It is great for busy mornings because treatment time is only 1-5 minutes. I use it before showering, while I’m getting ready for work and before bed. Slather some on whenever you need a quick, rejuvenating facial.

The Peel-Off Mask with green tea and black rice eliminates dry flakes and excess oil to prevent blemishes, acne and greasiness. As the thin film is lifted off, you can feel it extracting sweat, dirt and debris that has accumulated throughout the day.

The Night Gel Moisturizer ($11.99) feels cool and soothing on tired skin. As you sleep, the antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties replenish and repair to promote a healthy glow. I usually layer the gel with serum or oil for even more hydration because there is not enough moisture to completely eliminate dryness.

When dealing with long, international flights and bad skin days, I like knowing that I have these products in my suitcase.

Nivea Skincare - New Creams, Cleansers & Anti-Aging Formulas

A few weeks ago I attended Nivea’s press event to celebrate the launch of some great new products and meet their beautiful new brand ambassador – Tessa Virtue! If you watched the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang (like I did) then you probably saw Tessa and Scott kick butt and skate circles around the competition to win Canada the gold. I had a chance to chat with Tessa about her experience in South Korea, what competition she’s training for next and decorating her new house. She also revealed some of her favorite skincare products.

I’ve been using Nivea since childhood and their body lotions have always been a staple in my family. The first product Tessa recommended is the Care Nourish Cream which comes in a tube for $9.99 and a large jar for $13.00. The awesome thing about this gentle, non-greasy moisturizer is that it can be used on the body, hands and face to keep you soft and hydrated from head-to-toe. The rich, silky texture absorbs quickly and effectively to deeply replenish and alleviate dry flaky skin with an amazing scent. For travel I love the convenience of having an all-in-one cream and the lightweight formula is perfect for all seasons.

The other day my sister asked if I had any toner and I said – Micellar Water is trending now, get with it! I mean, they sort-of do the same thing but typically Micelles draw out dirt, oil and impurities like a magnet without drying out the skin. Nivea has created the new MicellAir Skin Breathe Water ($8.99) which cleanses deeply to remove stubborn makeup on the eyes, face and lips with no residue, rubbing or rinsing.

After a long day, taking off my makeup is the last thing I want to do but the MicellAir Skin Breathe Eye Makeup Remover ($7.77) makes the task less tedious. The gel gets rid of shadow, glitter, liner and mascara without irritating my eyes and the small bottle is perfect for travel.

I don’t have any visible signs of aging yet but I still use anti-aging skincare. The key to youthfulness is prevention so I’ve been testing Nivea’s Q10 Plus C Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream ($19.97) and Eye Cream for tired looking skin. The products are formulated to reduce the look of fatigue and lifelessness (we’ve all had those days), energize, smooth, hydrate and fortify. I wear the moisturizer under makeup since it has a non-greasy finish and after a long night, the eye cream helps improve the look of puffiness and dark circles with a boost of Vitamin C.

The Q10 Plus C Anti-Wrinkle + Energy Goodnight Cream ($21.99) works with the body's natural regeneration process to revitalize your complexion during sleep. Co-enzymes and antioxidants support skin’s energy metabolism from within to fight wrinkles, nourish and protect. The supple texture is very hydrating but for night care I usually prefer heavier formulas so I layer the cream with serum or oil. The aluminum tube helps protect the Vitamin C so you get a potent dose with each application and over time dullness, lines and sun damage may be visibly reduced.
