Soufeel Charm Bracelet Review & Holiday Charms!

Many of you who read my blog know that I love traveling, makeup and living life to the fullest so I am quite sentimental. I’m fond of traditions like decorating for the holidays, spending time with my loved ones and cherishing each amazing memory. A fabulous way to do this is by adding to my charm bracelet. Each shiny, dangly little pendant reminds me of something or someone that has special meaning and it is one of my most treasured keepsakes.

I currently have 3 charm bracelets: one I got on a cruise ship which contains pendants from all the ports I’ve stopped at over the years, a Pandora bracelet which I love and my Soufeel bracelet which is very similar in design and just as trendy on the wrist. During the holiday rush there is usually a long, tiring line at the Pandora store and the charms can be quite costly. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade my beautiful Pandora bracelet for anything but if you are on a budget, shopping online and looking for a meaningful, stylish gift then Soufeel is a great affordable option.

The chic bracelets are free of cadmium, nickel and lead and the design is sophisticated, modern and durable. They are available in a variety of sizes and the sterling silver roped design (my personal fave) starts at just $19.95.

The variety of charms offered is also impressive! There are so many designs, styles, colors and themes to choose from that you are sure to find a piece that represents a special event or your lifestyle and relationships perfectly and you can also custom design your own charms with personal photos!

Since I wanted to immerse myself in the holiday spirit I chose a couple cute festive pieces! The sleigh and reindeer set is adorable and I was quite pleased with the intricate details! You can actually see the little face on Santa and the sleigh is painted beautifully. This charm is actually two separate pieces which you can purchase individually or together and they link so it looks like Santa is being pulled by Rudolph. It retails for $100.00 and was just $49.95 on sale.

I also chose the little snowman because as a kid I use to love going outside with my sister after the first snowfall and building snowmen, forts and snow angels. Frosty retails for just $19.95.

I got the Rainbow Vortext charm (24.95) because I love color and the Purple Ice Crystal charm ($20.00) is my favorite shade and compliments my bracelet and style beautifully.

As a Beauty Editor, Blogger and Makeup Artist the lipstick charm was a must! It is a tad smaller than expected but still very cute. It retails for $18.95 on sale from $45.00.

The Laugh, Love Live charm is one of my favorite inspirational quotes. It retails for $50.00 but went on sale for just $19.95 on Cyber Monday.

All of these pretty charms with the exception of the purple bead are sterling silver and Soufeel also offers Swarovski Crystal and gold. The charms can also fit on your Pandora bracelet and some retail for as little as $6.99.

Kérastase Chronologiste Review & Holiday Gift Guide!

Kérastase is one of my favorite brands when it comes to luxury hair care and the gift of gorgeous, glossy locks is something everyone on your list will adore. If you plan to splurge on someone special this holiday the gift sets and fabulous collections from Kérastase is a great way to pamper your loved ones with strengthening and revitalizing formulas!

I have a few of the Kérastase collections in my vault of hair essentials and recently I’ve been testing the sleek, amazingly scented Chronologiste line deigned to detoxify, cleanse and nourish stressed, weak strands to restore shine, bounce and vitality! To achieve noticeable results just follow the step by step salon quality treatment process at home and walk out the door with lush healthy hair.

Step one involves the Rinse-Out Pre-Shampoo which can be massaged in for 5 mins prior to deep cleansing. The treatment exfoliates, intensely tones, detoxifies and purifies the scalp and hair fiber to remove build-up and boost the effectiveness of all products and ingredients introduced in the next few steps. The formula contains a range of natural extracts and fruit oils which help balance the effects of the sodium laureth sulfate. Because of the sulfates I only apply the formula to my scalp and let the foam trickle down as I rinse which prevents dry ends. I also use this method with the shampoo.

The Rinse-Out retails for $50.00

Next you use the Revitalizing Shampoo (for all hair types) designed to thoroughly cleanse with nutritious active ingredients that help retain moisture and smooth the hair fiber for a velvety texture. Like all the products in this collection the shampoo smells amazing and the invigorating formula makes my scalp feel fresh and clean without causing brittleness. It retails for $46.00.

Step three is by far my favorite because it is the process that infuses shine, body and the silky, soft texture I crave! The Essential Revitalizing Balm for hair and scalp is a rich, lush mask that coats every strand in a blanket of creamy goodness to recharge hair from root to tip! This sumptuous conditioner is enriched with the highest concentration of active ingredients for an intensely nourishing boost of hydration that deeply quenches dry, brittle stands to leave hair incredibly light and soft. It retails for $70.00.

Last but not least is the Fragrant Oil infused with a blend of argan, camellia, jasmine and fruit extracts to increase shine and luster. This finishing oil is incredibly handy in the winter to combat dryness, frizz and fly-aways and when hair is less than fresh and there is no time to shampoo you need something that makes it smell like you just left the salon! This oil will do just that and unlike spraying hair with actual perfume which contains drying alcohol this elixir leaves your tresses sleek, smooth and silky with an alluring, elegant aroma! It also helps remove that disgusting product burn smell after you flat iron or curl. It retails for $70.00.

It is also helpful to mention that if you are sensitive to strong fragrances you may want to take a whiff before purchasing but I absolutely love the scent of this collection.

With the great gift collections from Kérastase there are fabulous products for everyone on your list! Check out the website and find a retailer near you by clicking HERE.

Yves Rocher Holiday Collection & Gift Guide

When it comes to truly decadent formulas and elegant fragrances Yves Rocher always has you covered and this holiday season the brand has aimed to impress with an abundance of warm, festive scents and build your own gift sets!

When I think of Christmas I imagine the beautiful glittery decorations we put up every year and my mom burning her magical scented oils that fill the house with comforting aromas. Yves Rocher has captured these nostalgic holiday scents in their new collections which include: Candied Orange & Cinnamon, Spicy Vanilla and Candied Orange & Almond.

The Apple Delight Mini Eau de Toilette makes an adorable stocking stuffer and the light, sweet scent of fruit and warm vanilla is delicious! Although the fragrance may make your mouth water and remind you of fresh baked goods it does work well as a perfume because it isn’t overpoweringly sugary and it is quite appealing! It retails for just $7.00 and you can even pop it in your purse for a soft mist of holiday aroma on-the-go.

Who doesn’t love a relaxing evening at home on a cold winter’s night with some sultry mood lighting! The scrumptious apple vanilla fragrance also comes in a pretty candle that emits a delectable scent throughout the room to help you unwind. It retails for $9.00 and comes in a pretty glass holder.

There is something enchanting about beautiful snow globes which is probably why I am drawn to these next two products. Packaged in cute ornament-like balls the Spicy Vanilla Bath Oil and Candied Orange & Almond Bubble Bath is just what you need after a long, tiring day. Imagine slipping into warm, bubbly bliss that smells amazing and soaking those tired muscles as the stress just melts away. These goodies are perfect for stocking stuffers or gift packages. The oil is $8.00 and the bubble bath is $6.00.

You can also gift great items like the Orange & Almond Hand Cream ($4.00) and lip balm ($4.00) that moisturizes parched, rough skin with delicate flower water and sweet almond oil. Another essential that always comes in handy is liquid hand soap and the Orange & Cinnamon scent will definitely be a hit with all your guests this party season. It retails for just $5.00 and has quickly become my family’s favorite.

When it comes to skincare we can’t forget about the drying effects of harsh winter winds but the mouthwatering Spicy Vanilla collection will keep you hydrated and smelling irresistible for all your holiday events. The smooth creamy lotion adds a healthy sheen with subtle shimmer and provides light, non-greasy moisture that quenches parched skin. The body wash has a botanical, paraben-free base infused with organically grown Cornflower water that foams away dirt and oil to leave you feeling fresh and smelling divine. This festive formula makes shower time a pampering experience! The shower gel is just $4.00 and the velvety lotion retails for $6.00 which is a fantastic deal.

I have to take a moment to talk about the amazing So Elixir because the stunning packaging reminds me of something ancient and exotic and the scent is to die for! You will definitely want to get the entire collection if you are keeping it for yourself or you can select your favorite items for gift packages and the most indulgent stocking stuffers ever! The line also comes with a beautiful perfume- ($32.00) in a mysterious amber bottle and the notes include an alluring combination of creamy vanilla, deep wood and patchouli mingled with a hint of sweet floral essence.

When I use the shower gel ($11.00), perfumed body lotion ($14.00) and fragrance before heading out for a night on the town I smell amazing and I just can’t get enough of this magical concoction!

If you are looking for affordable stocking stuffers Yves Rocher also has a new collection of botanical nail polish in more than 50 bright and vibrant shades! The formula is designed to deliver intense shine, long lasting color and quick drying time. The resin is derived from a tree originating in the Philippines so it is safer for your nails and I love the brilliant gel-effect finish! Many of the hues apply sufficiently in just one coat and the adaptable fan brush makes the task quicker and neater.

These beauties retail for just $6.00 each and there are shades to suit all your moods whether you want to go sexy, rocker girl, playful, neutral, bold or tropical and you can find the perfect colors for everyone on your list!

There is also pretty silver glitter if you want to add some festive bling to your mani.

You can pick up these must-have Christmas inspired gifts at Yves Rocher stores and build your own gift packages online at yvesrocher.ca

Sleek Makeup Review and Holiday Gift Guide

Sleek Makeup (a popular brand from the UK) offers a variety of affordable cosmetics and beautiful pigments with the versatility to create endless looks to suit your mood, style and personal taste. From eye shadow, lipstick, blush, concealer and bases you can find whatever you’re looking for and the brand ships internationally.

With Christmas just around the corner we are all looking for the perfect gifts and some of my favorite products are the i-Divine palettes which include 12 silky mineral shades with mica particles that illuminate and enhance the eyes. These lightweight, travel friendly palettes come in a gorgeous range of colors and cute themes with trendy seasonal hues and rich, sultry finishes.

The Enchanted Forest palette is inspired by fairy tales but the colors are anything but neutral and tame. The shadows are bold, sexy and deep with a pretty combination of warm and cool tones.

Colors from left to right: Glass Slipper (matte cream), Beatrice (matte pink/mauve), Perla (light shimmery purple), Fairy Godmother (pink champagne), Grand Duke (deep purple/blue), Drizella (bronze/grey), Pumpkin (shimmery gold), Prince Charming (matte teal), Happily Ever After (frosty grey), Anastasia (matte plum), Daphne (Shimmery teal/grey) and Lady Tremaine (shimmery brown/bronze).

I like inclusion of both matte and shimmer textures and the smooth formula applies well with little to no fall-out and good pigmentation. The shades in the palette are also well matched, long lasting and quite buildable especially with a good primer. The deep hues sculpt and contour beautifully while the others sweep across the lids effortlessly for flattering enhancement and highlight. The i-Divine palettes retails for just $11.99 so they make great gifts or stocking stuffers!

For people like me who have an obsession with gold eye shadow the limited edition 24 Carat Gold Standard Palette has a range of glamorous, glitzy hues that are perfect for party season! The luxurious pigments take holiday bling to a new level with four shimmer powders and two rich cream formulas.

I will admit that I am not a huge fan of many cream shadows because I usually find them a bit tedious to apply, prone to creasing and slick in texture. This formula however isn’t too bad because the creams are actually more like light glitter accents, the base color is simply sheer and the silver and gold sparkle shows up like a highlight. I don’t apply them over the mineral shadow because it tends to mess up the application but you can use them on their own if you prefer shimmer with no color or dab them onto the cheeks and lips.

The dark shimmery purple, yellow gold, medium gold and champagne silver are powder shadows with the same silky softness as the i-Divine shades but with a creamier, denser texture that makes the pigmentation more intense and vibrant. These shadows definitely make up for the lack of color in the cream hues and look stunning on the skin with a hint of metallic brilliance that really pops! The palette retails for $11.49.

The Barekissed Illuminator is available in four soft shades and the pearlized pink I have below is called Casablanca. This liquid highlighter can be mixed into foundation or applied directly to the cheekbones and body for luminous, glowing skin that has a healthy lustre. Unlike some powder highlights this one doesn’t settle into the texture of skin or lay flat on the surface, the formula provides a natural, multidimensional sheen with a hint of color to brighten dull complexions. I also like that it provides light, seamless coverage and blends wonderfully! The Illuminator retails for $13.49.

No look is complete without pretty lip color so today I’m sharing two options: bright and dazzling for party girls or tame and sophisticated for a neutral effect.

The limited edition Glitter Me Intense Sparkling Lip Gloss in the shade Private Jet is a bold pink embedded with golden glitter! The color goes on sheer to medium coverage and makes lips appear full and pouty. The creamy texture disperses the glitter evenly so it doesn’t feel chunky, sticky or cumbersome and the particles are very fine so the sparkle doesn’t look too loud. This hydrating, plush shade is fabulous for the holiday season and you can wear it alone or on top of lipstick. It retails for $7.49.

When I watched the Adele Live in London TV special recently I was impressed by her effortless beauty and I noticed that her nude lipstick looked amazing with thick winged liner. The Tinted, flesh tone Balm below in (Bon Bon) reminds me of the lip color she wore on the show with a pretty hint of soft peach. These creamy balms are enriched with fruit oils to keep lips soft and moisturized all day!

Rodial Bee Venom Collection Review: Luxury Skincare and Gift Ideas

I have been using Rodial skincare over the last several months and I recently published a review on the Galmoxy Snake Mask which I use on a weekly basis to brighten and revive my complexion. Today I will be sharing some luxury items that are perfect for pampering your skin at home if you love spa quality results or if you are searching for impressive holiday gifts for those who crave beautiful skin.

The Bee Venom collection like the Snake Mask may sound a bit daunting and let’s be honest it’s pretty darn weird but I can assure you that the ingredient list is not quite as strange as the names indicate. The products are inspired by the freezing effects of venom relating to the aging process and slowing down the effects of sagging, wrinkles, fine lines and other unsightly blemishes. Although the products do contain actual bee venom (which is not harmful unless you have an allergy to bee stings) the venom/peptides work in synergy with plant stem cells to help correct skin tone, plump, enhance elasticity, hydrate and smooth the appearance of lines.

The Bee venom works by tricking the skin into thinking it has been stung and directing blood flow to the area of application. This stimulates the production of collagen for younger looking skin and essentially helps you retain facial shape and contour. It is also important to mention that the venom is collected from the bees using non-harmful methods.

The Bee Venom Super Serum is formulated for extreme performance and aside from diminishing the signs of aging with powerful stem cells, oils and extracts it also improves the surface of skin to boost radiance while providing a lush layer of moisture. The serum melts in quickly leaving your face soft, supple and silky with a non-greasy healthy sheen that smells fantastic! I prefer to use the serum under the cream before bed as the skin regenerates and heals but you can also use it during the day because it works well under makeup. It retails for $200.00.

The Bee Venom Moisturizer Revitalise and Firm has become apart of my nightly beauty ritual and as the weather cools down my skin needs more hydration to battle dryness, flaking and peeling. The cream is formulated for “mature skin” and although I have admitted to not having fine lines, wrinkles or any visible sign of aging I still take preventative measures!

Infused with skin plumping bee venom, hyaluronic acid for intense, long lasting moisture, vitamin C, biomimetic growth factor to even skin texture and fruit stem cells to help reverse the signs of aging this cream is definitely the “Queen Bee” (pun totally intended) of all face creams! The lavish formula makes my complexion look dewy and fresh in the morning and to increase absorption I use my face steamer to open my pores and cleanse with my Clarisonic OR exfoliate with my microdermabrasion machine prior to application. This process is one of my secrets for beautiful, even skin.

The moisturizer retails for $190.00

I love these products so much that I have recently acquired the Bee Venom 24 Carat Gold Super Essence which is as luxurious as it sounds! This extreme rejuvenation serum is also infused with bee venom peptide and liquid gold for a 3D express lifting effect and glowing skin. It also includes stem cells to sustain hydration, blur imperfections and reinforce the structure and contour of the face to help improve elasticity. The formula has a luminous rainbow hue that blends in clear except for the gold micro particles that shimmer on the surface of skin for a subtle highlight. I personally don’t think you need both serums as they are in the high-end price range and contain many of the same active ingredients. If you are looking for radiant results quickly then the gold infused serum may be the better option as it reflects light but if you are not a fan of the gold flecks then go with the other serum. The Super Essence retails for $270.00.

One of my favorite skin pampering products especially during the winter are creamy indulgent body butters so it’s no surprise that I am totally smitten with the Bee Venom 24 Carat Gold Body Soufflé.  This delicately whipped formula comes in a huge golden jar and although it is very rich and silky the texture is surprisingly light and fluffy! It absorbs quickly with a wonderful aroma and no greasiness, just a brilliant sheen that quenches even the thirstiest skin to eradicate dryness and alleviate discomfort instantly. You can actually see the small sparkling flecks of golden particles on your body which is great for holiday parties! Again the ingredients are very similar to those in the face products to lift, plump, firm, tone, blur, smooth, condition and more so if you need all over anti-aging results you can use this collection from head-to-toe! The body cream retails for $190.00.

Urban Decay Vice 4 Eye Shadow Palette Review & Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder

Since featuring the Vice 3 palette by Urban Decay I've been enjoying all the gorgeous hues and creating a range of my own signature looks so when the sequel launched I just had to have it too. The electric, eye catching packaging coincides with the brand's iconic, edgy style and the pigments are simply stunning!

Although there are 20 highly addictive “never before seen shades” the vibe is quite similar to the previous palette with dazzling jewel tones and knock-your-pants-off shimmer! Some of the pigments even remind me of past faves, like the rich emerald green and soft mattes.

You may look at these shades and think WOW that’s a lot of glitz and you’d be right but there is also deep purple, gunmetal silver, shimmery black with gold flecks and a fabulous selection of unique, trendsetting hues that appear to be a combination of several shades rolled into one. The shimmer and undertone of each shadow creates gorgeous multi-dimensional layers that are anything but flat and boring! There are so many great shades in this palette it’s hard to decide which ones to use and the bold, vibrant hues really amp up your looks and inspire you to think outside of the box.

The variety of finishes also allows you to play around with texture so you can go from smokey to glam and mix and match to create interesting effects. I love the range of buttery smooth mattes, radiant shimmer and intense micro-glitter and the formula is designed for consistent application with little fall-out so you won’t have it plastered all over your face but you may experience a few stray sparkly flecks here and there.

Here are swatches of a few of my favorite shades!

The velvety suede-like smoothness is highly blendable and like most UD shadows the pigmentation is outstanding! The colors apply full coverage and vibrant with or without a base although the Urban Decay Primer Potion is a must for all of my creations.

If you are looking for the perfect surprise for the makeup junkies on your list this limited edition palette will definitely make you a gift giving hero! You can pick it up at Sephora for $70.00.

Since we are talking about shimmer let’s take a look at the new Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face & Body.

With the strobbing craze taking the beauty world by storm glowing skin is definitely on trend...although you may not want to shine brighter than your Christmas lights.

This beautiful baked powder is embedded with soft bronze mico-shimmer and golden sparkle to give you that sexy luster and boost dull complexions. The smooth, lightweight texture and light reflecting glitter particles creates the perfect luminous finish on the cheekbones, nose collarbone and beyond so you look positively radiant! The powder comes with a brush and retails for $35.00.
