Annabelle Cosmetics Eye Shadow Quad - Review

If you stop by often then you may have noticed that I like purple, so when I spotted the eye shadow quad called Grape Vine by Annabelle Cosmetics I had to try it! I've had great success with Annabelle over the years and their Mineral Pigments and fabulous lip pencils have become the newest additions to my fabulous beauty finds this summer.

The quad contains 3 moderately shimmery colors and 1 color that is more matte including: silver, dark purple (grape), violet and lilac. The shades appear beautiful in the palette and compliment each other well but they do have different textures and pigmentation. The brightest purple (bottom left) is my favorite color but appears very subtle and requires a lot of work to build up, as does the light purple next to it (bottom right). The two top shades offer more pigmentation although a good primer is required for optimal saturation.

The darkest purple adds versatility to the palette  for creating smokey looks and adding depth to the crease. It also helps play up and deepen the other colors which are all quite soft.

The shadows have a smooth texture and are paraben and perfume free. This palette is described as "highly pigmented" but it has light to medium pigmentation and is suited for those who prefer a natural effect. They are ideal for daytime wear and can be deepened with a matte black shadow for the evening. Overall I like the colors but I personally prefer more pigmentation.

You can find the palette HERE, it retails for $10.95
