When Beauty Balms hit the market it seemed like every brand launched a formula for these tinted creams meant to replace moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. At first I was skeptical but the Double-Wear All-Day Glow BB Cream by Estēe Lauder works wonderfully for my skin and has an SPF protection of 30. I like the option of not having to apply sunscreen as some of them tend to be thick and clog pores; this cream is non-greasy and long-wear.
Unlike many BB creams I've tried this one adds a luminous glow to the skin, similar to a highlight with a satin finish. The velvety smooth texture is easy to work with and you don't need much to cover the entire face. I usually apply the cream using a sponge or skin perfecting brush but for simplicity sake you can use your fingers.
The cream is designed to brighten and even skin tone and for me it definitely balances the underlying pink and yellow tones in my complexion creating a smoother canvass for makeup application. I also like that the formula is quite moisturizing and contains vitamin E and C. The texture is light-weight and does not cake, crease or appear chalky.
I have intensity 4.0 and there are a range of shades from light, medium and dark to suit a variety of needs. This is a great product for all seasons because it creates an iridescent healthy glow that is subtle and fresh. The BB cream enhances and improves the overall look of my liquid makeup and I don't have to wear as much foundation or work as hard to conceal.
It also works well as a base for priming the skin and although the coverage is light it can be built-up to slightly blur blemishes and help diminish discoloration. Iv'e been using it for months and it does wonders for my complexion while providing great sun protection!
