NEW Diorshow Plum N Volume Mascara & On Stage Liner

Next weekend I’ve organized a girl’s trip to Niagara Falls and we plan to hit the casino, enjoy drinks on the patio and maybe do some shopping. In my travel bag you’ll find a couple Dior On Stage Liners ($35.00 ea) and the blue Plump ‘N’ Volume Mascara ($37.00) for a pop of fun summer color.

These must-have pigments make it easy to create trendy looks and unleash your inner artist. With the flick of a felt tip pen and a coat of sensational color, you can achieve cool graphic lines and long eccentric lashes.

The Liquid Liners have a flexible tip drenched in smooth, high-intensity matte color that doesn’t skip or fade. The thin point makes it easy to draw sharp wings for the perfect cat eye and you can shape, extend and widen your lines with one fluid motion. I love the fast-drying formula. It stays put the minute you apply it and the fluidity provides ultimate control for neatness and precision.

When drawing intricate lines or patterns try to make corrections quickly because once dry, the pigment does not budge! The color lasts all day and even withstands heat, humidity, perspiration and runny eyes so feel free to cry at that romantic comedy.

Dior’s mascaras are my favorites and these waterproof shades are daring and bright. The spindly brush enhances the fabulous formula by grabbing each hair, separating, extending and thickening to create that coveted flasies effect. Squeeze the tube to load the wand with exactly the right amount of pigment and pump up the volume with no clumping.

These limited-edition shades are vibrant and versatile. Coat just the tips or use different colors on the upper and lower lashes. The mascara is also available in coral and purple at Dior counters nationwide.

Dior Addict Lacquer Plump Review & Swatches + NEW Limited-Edition Lacquer Sticks

While touring Asia a few weeks ago I saw posters of Dior’s new Lacquer Plump Lip Color on billboards all over China and Thailand. It is no surprise that these bold, summery shades are quickly becoming a cult favorite with women all over the world – the formula is light, refreshing and long-wear.

The radiant pigment shapes, smooths and plumps your pout with a nourishing blend of hibiscus extract and hyaluronic acid. The oil-water emulsion feels cool, hydrating and comfortable as the vibrant color glides across the skin - increasing moisture levels up to 78%. The lacquer applies lightweight, bright, and sheer so you can layer for more coverage or let it dry like an ink and stain your lips a beautiful bold hue.

Once set, the color and shine fuse into an airy film making lips appear voluminous and juicy. Use the foam applicator to blend, outline, eliminate streaks and amplify intensity. The lush liquid melts in for up to 8 hours of cushiony wear.

There are 2 finishes available – pure color and sparkle for a boost of radiance. I love the metallic, shimmery effect but the glitter tends to scatter as the color fades and the particles cling to the skin making removal a bit tedious. There are 19 flattering shades to choose from including nude, coral, peach, red, burgundy and violet. The lacquers retail for $43.00 each and the packaging is gorgeous!

I also received a few limited-edition Lacquer Sticks ($43.00) in pretty seasonal shades. Rising Star is a shimmery bronze that looks sexy on sunkissed skin, while Star Girl is a sheer glittering lavender with blue flecks. If you prefer something bright and dramatic, Studio is a vibrant orange with a blaze of golden glitter – perfect for romantic summer nights. The luscious formula has the color and shine of a lacquer with the comfort and hydration of a balm so I always keep one in my purse.

When you’re in the mood for something simple, light and moisturizing, try the limited-edition Dior Addict Lipstick in Nude Chill ($43.00). The color payoff is sheer and soft with a luxuriously creamy texture that envelops lips in comforting oils and luminous mirror-like shine. The hydra-gel core instantly alleviates dry skin and prevents chapping for a smooth, youthful finish.

Swatches (Bottom to top): Lacquer Plump - 868 J'adior, 677 Disco Dior, 648 Dior Pulse and 347 Dior Freak. Dior Lacquer Sticks - 202 Star Girl, 647 Studio and 627 Rising Star. Dior Addict Lipstick - Nude Chill.

Dior Hydra Life Skincare – New Products

During my recent vacation I was dealing with a bad case of heat rash and as mentioned in my previous article – the pollution, jet lag and long drying flights didn't help. To recuperate and reinvigorate the complexion after sun exposure, pollution, fatigue and daily stress, The Dior Hydra Life Collection works wonders! The products are 83% natural with no parabens, or silicone and the formula contains a prebiotic to balance, purify and rejuvenate.

No matter how tired you are after a long day, don’t forget to remove your makeup. Clogged pores, bacteria and greasy skin can cause nasty breakouts and irritation. Thankfully Dior has created a Triple Impact Makeup Remover ($42.00) that cleanses, moisturizes and refreshes. I love that you can use the concentrate on sensitive areas of the face with minimal lash loss and no stinging or burning. Use it to loosen long-wear lipstick, pulverize messy glitter and soften crunchy mascara while eliminating dirt, sebum and impurities. The texture is silky and light so it glides across the skin and feels great.

After makeup removal I usually wash my face with a cleanser using my Clarisonic or Foreo before applying the Balancing 2-in-1 Sorbet Water ($52.00). Developed in collaboration with the Dior Asian Innovation Center in Japan, this crystalline lotion moisturizes, strengthens and diminishes minor imperfections including dilated pores, shine, redness and spots. It also helps prep your skin for makeup or night care by replenishing and fortifying. The revitalizing liquid leaves my face soft, clean and smooth with no stickiness.

The Hydration rescue Intense Sorbet Cream ($82.00) is my favorite new product in the collection. The luxurious whipped texture melts in like butter and transforms into a fluid serum that drenches parched skin in layers of moisture with no residue. The formula helps calm irritation, protect from pollutants and keeps water in cells to prevent dryness and damage. My skin feels incredibly plump, supple, dewy and velvety plus the scent is wonderful! After exposure to extreme environmental conditions like heat and smog, this cream feels cool and refreshing on stressed skin.

I always end my night routine with a good eye cream and recently I’ve had trouble readjusting to the time zone and getting enough rest. The Cooling Hydration Sorbet Eye Gel ($70.00) delivers “ice cube freshness” for a quick anti-fatigue touch-up. The formula contains anti-inflammatory water to decongest the lids and reduce puffiness while mineral powders correct dark circles and Abyssinica Oil nourishes and protects lashes and brows. The ceramic applicator has the effect of an ice cube to promote microcirculation, boost radiance and awaken the eye contour so you look well rested. You can also pop it in the fridge to enhance the invigorating sensation.

Dior Cool Wave Summer 2018 Makeup Collection - Review & Swatches

Last week while I was lounging by the pool in Thailand and touring the magnificent gardens in Singapore, my makeup looked fabulous! Dior’s Cool Wave Collection is what summer dreams are made of - featuring bright aquatic blues, fiery sunset coral, warm bronze and golden hues that transition from neutral to sultry.

These brilliant pigments are perfect for tropical beach destinations, summer soirees and drinks with the girls. The vibrant, creamy shadows apply effortlessly with splashes of energetic color that melts into sunkissed skin.

The Cool Down Shadow Palette ($73.00) reminds me of the blue lagoons in Phuket and snorkeling in the cool ocean waves. The scintillating blues range from bright and sparkling, refreshing silver and dramatic navy for beautiful contrast, definition and smokiness. The velvety texture is smooth, buildable and non-creasing for excellent coverage and versatility.

Heat Up ($73.00) contains a smoldering selection of deep bronze and radiant gold that effortlessly enhance your summer glow. I also use the shimmery finish to luminize my cheekbones and boost my complexion. The blazing coral adds a distinct pop of color to the lids, crease or lower lash line and makes a fabulous summer blush. These silky shadows layer well for optimal intensity that lasts all day but the lightest shade in both palettes are sheer glittery overlays.

When the weather is warm and humid, treat your lips to cool, hydrating color with the new Dior Addict Lip Tattoos ($37.00). These pigments are like a drink of water for parched skin and the liquid-y finish enhances the natural color of your lips to create a lightweight, natural flush. The tints are soft, sheer and simple but they make my pout look plump and juicy – like I just ate a delicious Popsicle that stained my lips a wonderful color. The supple finish fuses with the skin for up to 10 hours of smudge-proof wear.

(Watermelon & Cranberry)

On long summer nights the Dior Cooling Sticks ($41.00) are a true ally for tired eyes, instantly toning the eyelids so you look more awake. The creamy formula is loaded with moisturizing water and solid color for a bright, luminous finish that makes your eyes appear big, bright and beautiful. Use them to highlight the brow bone, lash line, inner corner of the eye and even the Cupid's bow to take your look to the next level.

(Gold Splash & Fresh Pink)

When it comes to summer manis and pedis I usually wear the brightest shades I can find. The Rouge Dior Vernis ($34.00) in the color Pow is a bold creamsicle orange with pearly shimmer that catches the light. The formula has a fluid texture that is easy to work with for opaque coverage in 2 coats.

Dior 2018 Spring Makeup Collection

Spring has officially begun and even though it isn’t warm or sunny yet, pretty makeup makes everything better! I’ve already reviewed the new Dior Lip Glows and amazing Capture Youth Skincare so now it’s time for sexy eyes and radiant skin!

The 5 Couleurs Glow Addict Eye Shadow Palette ($75.00) in the shade Thrill is fittingly named. I am very happy that Dior didn’t go for light pastels or washed-out hues this season because these vivid pigments are so much better! The texture is silky and ultra-lightweight with buildable coverage that creates versatile effects. You can go from sheer and luminous to deep and dramatic by simply layering and there is no creasing.

The deep burgundy, soft champagne, shimmery taupe, pale pink and electric fuchsia are expertly matched to create quick, flawless looks that compliment your complexion and go from day to night. To enhance the intensity, apply over primer. The finishes range from iridescent, satin and matte for contrast and definition. These stylish shades will take you from warm summer evenings and right into fall.

There is nothing better than healthy skin with a lustrous sheen so the Dior Nude Air Luminizer ($75.00) is a makeup bag must! This weightless powder is infused with reflective holographic pigments that merge into the skin to create a seamless veil of glittering light. The beautiful highlight provides an ethereal glow that instantly brightens and enhances dull skin. It looks lovely with the eye shadow palette and a pop of vibrant lipstick.

These products are limited-edition so make sure to pick up your favorites. Dior is available at The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, Holt Renfrew and Dior Counters nationwide.

Dior Foundation Review

A few weeks ago I had breakfast with Dior to preview the new makeup, skincare and fragrances. Among the pretty pigments and irresistible scents, there was a new line of foundation called Forever Undercover which inspired me to round-up a few of the brand’s best formulas.

Finding a foundation that suits my complexion always seems like an impossible task. I’m probably more likely to land on the moon or win the lottery than I am to find an exact match, but in pursuit of flawless skin, I will persist! Today I’ll be reviewing color, texture, application and longevity to determine how these products compare.

First up is the Diorskin Nude Air Serum ($66.00) which has a velvety, fluid texture. This liquid makeup is designed to feel “light as air” with an undetectable film and soft-focus glazed pigments that provide a sheer, radiant finish. The medicine dropper applicator deposits the perfect amount of color where you need it most while vitamins, minerals and cranberry oil revitalize, nourish and hydrate. Dior has also added “Oxygen Activ Technology” for breathable freshness and no caking.

There are only 9 shades available in this collection so I tested number 50 Dark Beige which is the second deepest hue. The color is too warm for my complexion but it layers thinly and the liquid-y consistency applies very silky. Although this foundation provides light coverage, it still corrects and evens skin tone for a natural effect with SPF 25.

The Dior Airflash Foundation ($72.00) is quite unique since it dispenses as a light spray to create an air-brushed glow. Before application, shake the can for 5 seconds to mix the pigments and then spray directly onto the face or in the hand at a 20 cm distance. With this method things can get a bit tricky. Similar to an aerosol spray, the pigment rises into the air which makes it easy to inhale or ingestion. It can also get onto clothing if you aren't careful and I experienced mild throat and nasal irritation. When spraying it onto my face (with closed eyes) application was a bit difficult and inconsistent. That being said, the silky liquid is easy to blend and the lightweight texture seems to melt in effortlessly and evaporate with no visible texture. The color appears dewy and healthy (like a second skin) with no heaviness or caking and the coverage is sheer to medium with buildable saturation.

The Diorskin Forever Fluid ($64.00) is probably one of the brand’s more popular foundations. There are 28 shades available - I have 45 Hazel Beige with a neutral undertone for easy matching. This formula provides a full-coverage matte finish for excellent blemish coverage and tone correcting. It is a bit heavier and thicker than the foundations above but it seems to last longer (up to 16 hours) and camouflages imperfections for a flawless effect. The consistency is smooth, comfortable and flexible so skin appears refined and luminous.

The new Forever Undercover Foundation ($64.00) provides maximum complexion control and 24 hour touch-proof, kiss-proof, life-proof coverage. This is the type of makeup you can dance all night in without sweating off and you don’t have to worry about touch-ups. The color does not dry right away so you have time to blend seamlessly and once set, the finish is velvety smooth and matte. The high concentration of pigments covers everything including blemishes, redness and irregularities for flawless skin that feels light, hydrated and comfortable. The color does not settle into lines and appears very natural with no greasiness. Compared to the other formulas, this one is by far my favorite! I have the shade 045 which looks a bit darker in the bottle than it does on the skin so I suggest swatching all possible matches.

For travel I’ve been using Dior’s Fix It 2-In-1 Prime & Conceal ($45.00) for face, eyes and lips. There are 3 shades available (Light, Medium and Dark) inspired by backstage makeup techniques. This skin perfector is handy for touch-ups and erases under eye circles, fills pores, corrects blemishes and covers dark areas. It also primes lips for color and I love how easy it is to swipe on for a revitalized, restful effect. The creamy texture is easy to blend and layer so I keep it in my purse.

The Dior Forever Undercover Concealer ($42.00) is a one coat camouflage that provides waterproof wear for up to 8 hours. You can apply it prior to foundation to cover redness, hyperpigmentation and acne or use it to sculpt and accentuate facial contours. It covers dark circles with a high dose of concentrated pigments and instantly brightens dull, tired skin.

Dior Capture Youth Serum Review and New Age-Delay Advanced Creme

There is no way to turn back time and since the “fountain of youth” does not exist, aging is inevitable. You can’t avoid getting older but you do have control over how well you age with Dior’s new Capture Youth Collection. This daily regime is inspired by predictive medicine that delays the signs of aging before they appear so you can love the skin you're in.

Many products on the market aim to soften lines and wrinkles or diminish problems that are already present and persistent. They may be effective to some degree but it is easier to prevent than treat and this luxurious collection is packed with powerful natural ingredients that control and improve the way your skin ages. The high concentration of antioxidants, botanicals and emollients, stimulates the epidermis, strengthens and retexturizes for a youthful appearance.

There are 5 serums available to customize your routine: Glow Booster, Plump Filler, Matte Maximize, Lift Sculptor and Redness Soother. Each formula is designed to work with the Captured Youth Creme for optimal results. They can also be mixed, matched and layered to create intensive treatments.

I’ve been using the Glow Booster Illuminating Serum ($120.00) to restore radiance and enhance moisture. This formula is 100 times more concentrated in Vitamin C than oranges and contains AHA to even skin tone, fade blemishes, brighten, correct, and improve texture. During periods of stress, jet lag or sleeplessness, the serum energizes and rejuvenates dull, lackluster skin while hydrating and smoothing. I use it to replenish my complexion after strenuous workouts, late nights and long flights. It also works wonders when skin is sensitive, irritated or red.

The serum is lightweight, gentle, non-greasy and comforting with a silky finish. It also absorbs quickly, sinks in deeply and smells great! Dior has perfected the medicine dropper to deliver precise single-drop application so there is no product waste.

The Age-Delay Plumping Serum ($120.00) is one of my favorite primers for makeup! The luscious liquid feels like a refreshing drink for parched skin and the texture is supple and velvety. Infused with a nutritive blend of botanicals and Hyaluronic Acid the serum restores fullness, deeply hydrates, boosts elasticity, improves resiliency and protects against environmental aggressors. It also helps fill lines and smooth rough patches so skin appears even, dewy and healthy.

I layer the serums with the Captured Youth Creme ($120.00) to create a potent night mask that rejuvenates, repairs and prevents visible signs of aging as I get my beauty rest. The texture is rich, ultra nourishing and moisturizing to combat the effects of impurities, dryness and pollution while the antioxidants prevent free-radical damage. This is a fantastic cream for winter and it leaves skin incredibly soft, sleek and beautiful.

I’ve also discovered a new Miss Dior fragrance called Blooming Bouquet that has quickly become a favorite. The mini bottle ($90.00 for 30 ml) is great for travel and the scent is a refreshing new twist on the original perfume that debuted in 1947. This version is romantic, whimsical, stirring and modern. The dark, earthy notes were eliminated and replaced by a sparkling blend of pink peppercorn, rose, peony, citrus, patchouli and white musk. The result is an intoxicating, seductive aroma that is delicate, radiant and feminine.

Dior Makeup Essentials: Eye Reviver Backstage Pros Illuminating Neutrals Eye Palette, Flash Luminizer & Brow Styler

We all have a stash of makeup that we rely on to create quick, trendy looks with minimal effort so today’s post features a few essentials from Dior including subtle shadow, bold lipstick and of course well-groomed brows.

The Eye Reviver Palette ($72.00) consists of cool, neutral tones with an array of iridescent satins and matte finishes that are office appropriate and easy to wear. The creamy black liner accentuates the eyes while the deep aubergine-brown creates definition in the crease and smokiness under the lash line. The other shades are silky, non-creasing and sheer for simple elegance. I usually wear bright, dramatic color but the refined hues in this palette are very functional.

To transform your look from day to night, simply add a bold lipstick for contrast. The Rouge Dior Lipsticks ($43.00) in Poison (deep purple) and Absolute (classic bombshell red) go well with the simple shades in the Reviver Palette and the velvety matte texture is saturated and supple. The rich, creamy color makes lips appear incredibly luscious and the long-wear formula provides lightweight moisture for comfort and dryness relief.

The Dior Flash Luminizer Radiance Booster Pens ($52.00) rejuvenate dull skin by brightening and creating a dewy glow. Use them illuminate facial shadows, revive tired eyes, conceal dark circles, hide blemishes and soften the look of fine lines. The hydrating fluid is dispenses directly onto the brush for easy application and seamless blending. There are about 8 shades available but choose wisely based on your needs. Some colors have a shimmery highlighting effect with multidimensional sheen while others have a creamy concealer/liquid makeup formula with no shimmer.

The Dior Addict Lacquer Stick ($43.00) in the shade Sulfurous is a gorgeous plum red that I’ve been wearing almost every day. The nourishing formula combines the intensity of a lacquer with the moisture of a hydrating lipstick and the buttery color glides on effortlessly, drenching lips in luscious shine. The balm-like texture is light, supple and juicy creating natural plumpness.

We can’t talk about essentials without covering brow products because I never leave home without perfecting my arches. The Brow Styler ($36.00) and Bold Brow Mascara ($34.00) are the only products I need to line, shape and fill. The thin retractable pencils create sharp, defined lines and the deep shades are dark enough for my jet black hair. Use them to thicken sparse areas and brush on more color with the mascara for fullness and definition.

Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm Review – NEW Shades

I love vibrant lipstick and bold matte finishes but sometimes my pout needs a break and a blast of moisture. When I first tried the Dior Lip Glow Balms I was instantly hooked and now I always keep the pretty plum shade in my purse for dry skin emergencies.

Every 3 seconds around the world one of these luxurious balms are sold and backstage it has become a favorite among models and artists. The translucent pink packaging with silver emblem adds simple sophistication to your beauty routine and the sticker swatch on the cap makes it easy to identify each shade.

This nourishing treatment is the perfect combination of lip care and makeup. “Color Reviver” technology makes the formula react to the pH level of each person’s lips resulting in a customized shade that enhances your natural skin color. Even as the pigment wears away (which takes hours) it leaves behind a lovely flush that makes my pout look healthy, rosy and rejuvenated.

With a nutritious dose of mango butter, the lightweight, supple balm makes lips feel incredibly soft, plump, smooth and moisturized with a hint of luminous shine. The creamy formula glides on effortlessly and quenches without stickiness so lips get the protection they need all winter.

The Matte Glow finish has a subtle tint with a blurred effect to enhance lips without giving the impression you’re wearing makeup. The transparent color is juicy, voluminous and flattering on every skin tone. In the photo below there are 3 soft pinks (left to right): 008 Ultra Pink, 007 Raspberry and 102 Matte Raspberry. If you prefer prominent color the matte Raspberry has more pigmentation while the other is translucent with brilliant shine.

The Halo Glow shades have an iridescent effect with a wash of radiant shimmer that makes lips appear dazzling. I like to apply the matte balm first and then top it off with a few layers off the halo for a multidimensional effect that reflects light and provides the velvety lushness I crave.

Dior Precious Rocks Holiday Collection Review

Dior has captured the essence of the holiday season with scintillating ruby tones, prismatic brilliance and refined glamour. The artistic packaging is very Hollywood chic - featuring sophisticated shapes and reflective gold embellishments that resemble stylish ornaments.

Uncapping the beautiful Diorific Khôl Lipstick ($46.00) is a magical experience and as you pull it out of your handbag, the unique shape and vivid color is mesmerizing.

There are 5 trendy shades available and Bold Amethyst is the deepest, most seductive hue – perfect for creating dramatic intrigue and rich, vampy looks. The color transmits like smoky midnight plum with a powdery matte finish that hugs the lip contour to amplify definition and fullness. For neatness and precision, the pointed bullet design lines, shapes and accentuates with no feathering. The ultra-pigmented, long-wear formula last for hours and the lush texture is light, moisturizing and softening – infused with nourishing butters.

The Diorific Vernis Nail Enamel ($34.00) is the prettiest polish I’ve seen – very unique and high fashion. Grenat is an irresistible bright fuchsia that looks ravishing at holiday parties and Ruby is a shimmery, multidimensional pink. The lacquer is vibrant, long-wear and smooth with a creamy formula that applies opaque and glossy for professional results.

The Diorific Matte Fluid Lip & Cheek Color ($47.00) makes me excited to celebrate Christmas so I can wear it to all my events. The velvety formula drenches lips in saturated color with a luxurious matte finish that looks femininely striking. Blend it onto the cheeks for a soft, faded flush – similar to the effect you get after being out in the cold, when skin appears healthy and naturally rosy.

The applicator is small but effective and the ruby-pink applies full-coverage and lacquer-like.
