Pur Cosmetics Chrome Glaze High Shine Lip Gloss & Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick Review

Pur Cosmetics makes gorgeous lip color and their lacquers are some of my favorite liquid lipsticks. Whether you like bold, opaque color (like me) or high-shine glossy shades, Pur has something for everyone including vivid fall hues!

For those who still dig the neutral lip trend, I chose 2 shades that are flattering on all complexions with mild undertones. Ever After (on the left) is a pretty mauve-pink with a creamy matte finish that looks great with my autumn wardrobe. The color is deep and eye-catching yet still quite tame. When you’re in the mood for a neutral gloss, Smarty Pants is a flattering, subtle pink that enhances your natural lip color with a beautiful flush.

The matte formula glides on full-coverage and smooth with a rich, mousse texture that conditions and hydrates to prevent flaking and dryness. The intense color provides hours of comfortable wear and nourishing Agave Extract helps plump and fill lines to create a flawless finish.

I like that the applicator has a pointed tip which makes shaping and defining the lip contour much easier and you can create a neat outline without lip liner.

For fall I love deep, vampy pigments. The lighter shade (on the left) is a Velvet Matte called Addiction. This gorgeous burgundy-wine will probably be one of my go-to colors next season and it looks amazing with sparkling gold shadow. The darker shade is a Chrome Glaze called Rebel. The creamy gloss provides a vibrant stain and sheer, luminous color that moisturizes and plumps. You can also wear the gloss over the matte for opaqueness and shine.

Pür Cosmetics Strobe/Highlight Palette Review

This summer I’ve been binging on highlighter and experimenting with contour to achieve that fresh, dewy glow and definition. Along with dabs of mild glimmering shine and subtle everyday accents there is a growing trend of ultra bright face shimmer called strobing. Many brands are joining in by releasing heavily saturated pigments in various shades for an effect I like to call disco ball chic and beauty junkies can’t seem to get enough!

Pür Cosmetics has recently launched two gorgeous palettes with shades designed to enhance the sun and moon’s effect on your skin for a glowing, youthful appearance. While you’re out enjoying the summer temperatures and lounging by the pool, Sun-Kissed Glow compliments all skin tones and captures the warmth of the seasons with classic gold, rose gold and sparkling bronze. 

When the sun goes down and you’re ready to head out for a night of fun, the Moonlight Glow Palette illuminates the skin with cooler tones including soft gold, bronze and shimmery pink.

Initially the highlights have a creamy, silky texture for superior glide and seamless blending but once applied and dry they set well and transform to powder for all day wear. Although the formula is slightly creamy, the pigments don’t have that slick, oiliness that attracts dust particles, hair and other substances so you won’t end up with a smeared mess. They are also very lightweight, smooth and easy to apply with a finger plus they pack a bold punch of high-impact shimmer that instantly brightens the skin for a luminous glow that seems to emit from within.

The shades are all very buildable so you can go from sheer to glam with a few swipes for a pretty strobed effect. Many of the hues have a shimmery base and a dusting of micro-fine glitter fragments so you get a double dose of radiance that efficiently enhances the skin.

Pür Minerals Marble Powder Spice and Balancing Act Shine Control

It’s finally here! The warm weather is upon us and people are already outdoors having fun in the sun. When I’m traveling, enjoying city life and making my way from one event to the next, it’s convenient to have a few multi-purpose products to keep my face fresh.

The Marble Powder Spice is a multidimensional blend of copper, cinnamon and pearl pigments that can be swept over the cheeks, eyes or lips to add all-over warmth to the face. The powder has a beautiful peach-bronze undertone that gives skin a golden Goddess, luminous effect and can also be used for light sculpting and definition. Aside from being a universally flattering blush, the pearl particles work as a subtle highlight to give skin a natural glow that seems to emit from within.

The powder can be layered on the lids to create a beautiful bronzed gradient that ties your look together but you may need a primer if you want more than a sheer finish. I do wish there was a bit more color pay-off because I also found it a tad difficult to intensify and transfer the pigment to my lips but it looks gorgeous on the skin and the radiant results are perfect for the season. Many of us have had those long, amazing summer days when the barbecue is on-point, the drinks flow until sunset and your makeup seems to slide off your face. Looking like a sweaty greaseball is never cute so it’s important to touch-up throughout the day. The Balancing Act Mosaic Powder is formulated to lock-in a shine-free look for an even, matte finish. The powder is easy to blend and applies translucent so it is suitable for all complexions.

After your makeup is complete, simply apply with a powder brush and layer for desired coverage. I also like to keep it in my purse to eradicate shine on-the-go. I often start by using a blotting paper to eliminate some oil and then dab on the powder for that fresh, “just applied” look.  The only downside (and this is strange) is the warning on the packing. It says that using the powder may increase skin’s sensitivity to sun and possible sunburn so you must use it with sunscreen and limit exposure. I mostly use mattifying powders in the summer months so I probably won’t use this on tropical vacations or days spent outdoors, (just in case)! The powder retails for $33.00.

Pürminerals Love Your Selfie Limited Edition Palette

In a world obsessed with selfies and capturing every moment for social media you have to be ready to strike a pose when it's time for your closeup. There are tons of filters and editing apps out there but you can’t fake gorgeous makeup! Pürminerals has released the chic little Love Your Selfie Palette that comes with everything you need to create a fabulous look and publish those pics with confidence. What I love about these shades is that they look ravishing on any complexion and the pigmentation is wonderful! In true Pürminerals style the quality is fantastic and the pigments are silky smooth for buildable coverage and long-lasting trendy creations that don’t crease.

There are deep sultry hues for defining and sculpting the crease along with beautiful shimmery colors for enhancing the eyes like champagne pink (Filter) and silvery beige (Flash) for a bright, beautiful finish. For this simple look I used the shade Photobomb (deep plum) in the crease and blended it darker on the outer corners of the eyes and lighter toward the inner corners. I deepened the color with the shade Closeup and for a pop of fall I added a touch of cranberry pink from another palette. On my lids I used a mixture of Filter and Flash applied by patting the pigment onto the lids to build-up the color. You can also frame the inner tear duct area with the same shades as they highlight the eyes beautifully. Under my brows I used the shade Fade (neutral beige) as a matte highlight and I also used it to buff and blend the crease colors. I then lined my upper lid with the Double Ego Eyeliner in the shade Milan and added a few coats of the Big Looks Mascara for length and volume. I also used the blush (Savvy) which has great color pay-off and I swept a touch of the Afterglow highlight onto my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose for glowing skin.

For my face I started with the Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation in the shade Tan which gave me a smooth, flawless finish. I layered it with some of my concealer for more coverage and set my entire face with the Pürminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Powder with SPF 15. On my lips I used the Pürminerals Lip Lure Lacquer in the shade Fiery. I absolutely love these lacquers as they have amazing pigmentation, excellent longevity and a creamy rich texture that really makes lips pop!

Pure Lure Lip Lacquers

The Air Perfection Foundation delivers an airy mousse texture that blends beautifully and you can use the Liquid Chisel Brush (26.00) to apply the pigment in circular motions for a seamless finish. The compact is refillable and the foundation provides light to medium coverage that layers well and dries quickly for a nice matte effect. This portable foundation infuses the skin with Brazilian Babassu Oil plus other nutritive oils, antioxidants, amino acids and vitamins to moisturize, diminish irritation and protect. Purminerals Secret Crush Eye shadow Palette Review

Purminerals has been hitting it out of the park with their gorgeous eye shadows and the Soul Mattes Palette is one I've been using daily for contouring and defining my everyday looks. Not only are the textures luxurious, the quality is fantastic with no creasing or fading even in the summer heat!

This crush worthy palette has 8 ultra chic shades that are ideal for everyday looks; in fact I wear these warm hues most frequently as they compliment my outfits and most shades of lipstick. What I love most is that the finishes are expertly crafted for use. When palettes have too much shimmer and not enough matte for balance you can end up with more glam than you bargained for. This palette also includes shimmer-free brown and black for deepening the crease and a pretty cream color that makes a wonderful brow highlight.

The shimmer shades include hues that are consistently trendy including rose gold, and three other gold-bronze hues that compliment all complexions. I do think a bit more color variation would have been a nice touch but I am definitely pleased with the velvety texture and ease of application. The palette is also great for travel and since it is suitable for both day and night I don't have to pack any other shadows.

The rich smoothness and high impact pigmentation makes it easy to enhance the colors and the coverage is excellent! You can go from a sheer wash of luminous shimmer to golden goddess with the swipe of a brush and although primer is not required to intensify the beautiful, satiny-metallic finish it does increase the vibrancy. The compact also comes with a rather large eye shadow brush which is a tad bulky for the eyes but still does a decent job at patting on color and blending. It retails for $35.00.

I haven’t had much luck when it comes to marker-like lip products because the finish is usually very drying and sets into the texture of lips. Although the Pout Pen Lip Stain and Hydrating Balm Duo does have a pointed marker tip the effect isn't as flat and the other side has a translucent balm for a boost of moisture.

I like the fruity apricot, peach scent and Fuzzy Navel is a pretty coral which is totally trendy for the season. The felt applicator is easy to use and the shape helps contour and outline the lips. When worn without the balm the stain has good staying power and a very subtle flush loaded with nutritive vitamin C. When you slather the balm on top the texture of the stain transforms into more of a cream and becomes susceptible to transferring and smudging.

The stain applies very lightweight and the sheer, color is tinted beautifully for a pouty, juicy finish that is natural and comfortable. It retails for $21.00 and is available in an array of delectable hues.
