SkinCeuticals Skincare Review – Protection, Correction & Discoloration Defense

Sometimes skincare takes a long time to yield visible results and other times it doesn’t work at all which can be very frustrating. We invest a lot of time and money to achieve a healthy complexion, which is why SkinCeuticals develops highly concentrated formulas backed by clinical research. The products are used by dermatologists, plastic surgeons and medi-spas to heal the skin after aesthetic procedures. They are also effective for daily maintenance, protection and anti-aging.

My favorite product in the line is Phloretin CF ($175.00) - a broad-range antioxidant treatment with Vitamin C. The serum provides advanced environmental protection to diminish the appearance of fine lines, blemishes and discoloration during the day.

Massage it in before moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup to shield your skin from free radical damage and daily aggressors. Immediately after application I notice a miraculous transformation in the texture, tone and overall health of my skin. My face looks replenished, smooth and bright which is why I use it every day. The lightweight texture locks-in moisture and boosts the efficiency of sunscreen to minimize damage, inflammation and tanning. The Proteins and acids also reverse premature atmospheric aging and prevents hyperpigmentation from deepening in the sun. Unlike many Vitamin C products, this one does not react negatively in UV and lasts up-to 72 hours without greasiness.

Most of us have some level of sun damage no matter how hard we try to avoid it, and this can cause unsightly pigment irregularities. The new Discoloration Defense Daily Serum ($125.00) fades brown spots, acne marks and dark areas to even the complexion and enhance your natural glow. For best results, limit sun exposure and use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen. My skin tone is definitely more luminous but I may delay treatments until autumn or winter when I usually spend less time outdoors.

You can also use Discoloration Defense after clinical procedures like botox, chemical peels, and microneedling to prevent discoloration and scarring triggered by swelling and bruising.

The Phyto Corrective Gel ($74.00) is formulated to calm, hydrate and soothe with a blend of hyaluronic acid, cucumber, thyme, olive leaf and eucalyptus. The fast absorbing botanicals are ideal for sensitive skin and I’ve used it to alleviate irritation caused by hair removal, hives, heat rash and sunburn. It is also a wonderful moisturizer for acne-prone skin and can be used on other areas of the body such as hands, legs and bikini area. Layer it under your favorite cream for extra suppleness or use it to relieve itchiness and peeling.

The C E Ferulic Serum ($175.00) is another Vitamin C daytime formula that brightens and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness and sagging. Powerful antioxidants, Vitamin E and clinically derived ingredients help repair damage caused by ozone pollution, free radicals and UV to prevent premature aging. The serum is ideal for travel because it helps counteract environmental changes, jet lag, dullness and other factors that cause blemishes.
