Garnier Whole Blends Hair Care Review

Whether I’m traveling to Asia, Europe or the Caribbean, I always pack products that replenish my hair after a long, dehydrating flight. My suitcase is usually well stocked with a selection of Garnier shampoos and conditioners that restore brittle strands, put the bounce back in my curls and smell amazing! The collection is very affordable and accessible at drugstores throughout Canada and the U.S.

One of my favorite paraben-free, vegan blends is Almond & Argan Riches. This line is formulated to nourish, soften and tame fragile cuticles. The creamy texture and soothing aloe alleviates dry scalp and if you use heat or hair color, the reparative ingredients mend damaged areas to prevent breakage.

Shampoo and Conditioner - $4.88 each

After shampooing and detangling with the lush conditioner, I use the silicone-free Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) to deeply moisturize, strengthen, soften and enhance shine. Curly girls and those who air dry will love the Leave-In Balm ($6.96). Simply apply a small amount to damp hair for extra suppleness, frizz control and split-end protection.

Oat Delicacy is the newest collection launched by the brand. This line is formulated for sensitive scalp and delicate hair that requires extra care. Infused with oat and rice milk, the products hydrate and rejuvenate fine strands without weighing them down.

The shampoo eliminates oil, dirt and build-up without stripping and the conditioner's revitalizing emollients revive color and prevent limpness.

The Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) is a bit light for long, thick hair like mine but when used as regular conditioner my ends feel silky smooth. This collection also includes a Dry Shampoo ($6.96) to eliminate greasiness and stale odors between wash days and a wonderful Detangling Milk ($6.96) to undo pesky knots and maintain luminosity without stickiness.

Although these products are ideal for sensitive hair they are heavily fragranced. The captivating scent lingers for days and catches the attention of everyone I pass.

If you can’t escape to the tropics anytime soon, the Coconut Water and Vanilla Milk Collection may be the next best thing. The lightweight formula quenches thirsty strands with natural extracts so your locks appear healthy and vibrant. It also improves texture, body and manageability for more movement and shine.

Honey Treasures is enriched with royal jelly and propolis to heal and protect stressed strands. The shampoo gently purifies and soothes flaky scalp while foaming away pollutants, oil and irritating particles that get trapped around the roots.

The conditioner rehabilitates damaged lengths by reinforcing the fiber, hydrating and preventing breakage. It provides enough slip to detangle without discomfort and I’ve noticed less shedding.

If you get this collection I highly recommend the Rinse-Out Mask ($6.96) for extra silkiness. It tames flyaways, smooths ragged ends and prepares hair for heat styling.

Before blow drying and flat ironing, use the Restoring 10-In-One Leave-In Miracle Nectar ($6.97). The light spray locks-in moisture, detangles, repairs, prevents frizz and shields against heat damage up to 230˚C / 450˚F.

Garnier Whole Blends is available at drugstores nationwide including Walmart.
