Annabelle Cosmetics spring 2015 collection will drench lips in juicy color, add a hint of highlight and flush cheeks in fresh hues. Tinted balms have been an ongoing trend because they make lips pop with pretty
pigment while still providing some much needed hydration to battle the last of winter's wrath.
The Lipsies balms by Annabelle were previously introduced as
a limited edition collection but now back by popular demand they are available
in 10 sweet, tantalizing aromas including: cupcake, strawberry, vanilla, cotton
candy, peach and more! I will admit that when it comes to makeup I am a sucker
for cute packaging and delicious scents and as I write this I am periodically taking whiffs of these candy-like balms and resisting the urge to eat one! I
don't recommend snacking on your lip products no matter how tempting but these luscious Lipsies are definitely sweet, fun and delectably fruity.
Now that I've gotten the yummy stuff out of the way and satisfied my craving with some gummy bears let’s
get into texture and color. As far as tinted balms go these are pretty much
everything you need. They glide on effortlessly with a lightweight formula and provide comfortable buttery moisture with great shine. The finish is slightly glossy which keeps lips supple and the pigmentation ranges from light and sheer to medium and bright.
The lip-lickable balms twist up in crayon form for easy use
on the go and they are great for all seasons. The Lipsies retail for just $4.95 each.
Shades: Cherry and Fruit Punch
I have been using the blushes from Annabelle for a few years and I can tell you firsthand that the shelf life is quite impressive. For spring they have released five pretty petal shades ranging from berry, pink and popular coral hues.
I have the shade Spring Petal which is a light fresh pink with
hints of shimmer for subtle illumination. Looking at the blush in the pan I
thought it was going to be another simple, mediocre pink that would soon get pushed to the back of a drawer and be forgotten but when I swatched it I soon discovered that I was
totally wrong! This is a gorgeous pink with light coral undertones and it adds just
the right amount of highlight. It compliments my complexion and makes my cheeks pop with a natural,
healthy flush of color that is perfect for the season. This little blush may be one of my new spring faves!
The texture is smooth and silky which is easy to build and blend and the color applies consistently for great coverage. The formula is also long-lasting and free of gluten and parbens, the blush retails for just $7.95.
For sculpting and contouring Annabelle has launched 6 Perfect Bronze tints and with names like Sun Goddess, Sun Kissed and Sun
Chic these compacts will turn up the heat and help you glow this summer!
Shade: Sun Heat
The powders have a mineral-silk blend that is
hypoallergenic and free of perfumes and parabens. The finishes include soft matte
and light lustrous tones although the shimmer isn't very visible once applied. The pigmentation shows up a bit brassy and quite light on the skin even though it looks deep brown in the compact. I still use it to shape and define because it produces enough contrast and a nice sun kissed effect. You can pick up the bronzers for $11.95 each.
Crowned one of the best bronzers under $25.00 I can’t forget
to include the Annabelle Biggy Bronzer in the shade Matte Gold. The powder can be applied to
the face, neck, décolleté and even the arms and legs to highlight and illuminate.
Zebra Bronzing Powder in- Matte Gold
To use: swirl a big fluffy brush over the entire zebra
patterned compact and simply sweep across the body where the sun would
naturally touch the skin.
Looking at the palette you would think that the gold and brown tones would translate well and add depth however using every shade creates a light, frosty effect which completely washes out the deeper hues. The smooth mineral texture is lightweight and does create a natural highlight effect although on my complexion the color is so subtle that it blends in and becomes quite undetectable. I'd suggest swatching the powders to determine which shade best compliments your skin tone but they do provide a touch of radiance to help put an end to dull skin and they retail for $11. 95 each.
