Masque Bar by Look Beauty: Sheet Mask Review

Korean beauty products have successfully bridged their way into North America and have been growing in popularity for good reason. Korea is said to be about 12 years ahead of the United States in terms of technology and innovations in beauty and on average Korean women spend 7 times more money on skincare and use up to 18 products per day! I relate to people who take skincare seriously and I like that many Korean women focus more on treatment, prevention and enhancing resiliency rather than covering and concealing with cosmetics. Since the health of your skin directly correlates to the appearance and application of your makeup I make it my mission to smooth, even and boost my complexion any way I can!

Masks have been consistently popular in the beauty industry and Masque Bar by Look Beauty has taken them a step further by creating 18 nourishing formulas with simple and easily identifiable ingredients. These masks are not just limited to the face, they also include rich, nutritive cocktails of powerful serums for the hands, feet, under eyes and lips in a variety of application methods and textures.

What I like most about this brand is the impressive variety! They have a mask for just about anything your skin can throw at you whether you need to brighten, hydrate, soothe, de-puff, calm, exfoliate, correct, illuminate or repair and there is something for every skin type. The ingredients are also a big selling point for me with extracts, antioxidants and natural components like honey, cucumber, aloe, peppermint, green tea and an array of vitamins, fruits, collagen and butters. The masks make fabulous additions to your weekly skincare routine or as part of a rejuvenating spa day!

Since there are so many great products in the line I won’t be able to cover them all but I will note some of my favorites.

First up is the Brightening Sheet Mask because who doesn't want a radiant glow! This is one of my go-to treatments because it revitalizes sallow skin, brightens, corrects, hydrates and illuminates to defeat dark spots and pigmentation irregularities. It is safe and effective for all skin tones and is enriched with orange extract, liquorice, root, lemon, sugarcane, maple, castor oil and vitamin C.

The dry, long winter has wreaked havoc on my hands so the Moisture & Nourish Fingernail Mask is wonderful when you need to hydrate, strengthen and protect. The packet contains 10 finger masks which you wear for 30-60 minutes to gently exfoliate rough skin and help repair damage from polish, cuticle removal and UV light. The masks penetrate quickly to moisturize brittle nails and contain: peach extract, shea butter, witch hazel, coconut, sweet almond, jojoba, orange, cherry, grapefruit and much more!

The Honey Sheet Masks hydrate and refresh with a blend of vitamin E, collagen, honey extract, witch hazel, oils and fruit. Honey also has natural antibacterial benefits which may help fight breakouts.

Pore Refining Crème Mask- minimizes the appearance of pores and evens the complexion with coenzyme Q-10, antioxidants, raspberry, lemon, Vitamin E, macadamia, olive, sugarcane and more.

Cucumber Sheet Mask- revitalizes, rejuvenates and hydrates after exposure to UV and harsh weather. Infused with: vitamin E, collagen, cucumber and fruit extracts.

Pomegranate Sheet Mask- brightens, tightens pores, moisturizes and smoothes with vitamins, collagen and fruit extracts.

Aloe Vera Sheet Mask- softens, calms irritated skin and nourishes for long lasting hydration and a youthful glow. Infused with: vitamins, collagen, aloe extract, botanicals and oil.

If you suffer from dark under eye circles or puffiness Masque Bar has some great little strips to help revive the delicate skin under the eyes. The masks minimize shadows and uneven skin tone to brighten, increase elasticity, decongest, smooth and tighten with ginko, cucumber, vitamins and natural oils. These little packs are also perfect for travel to help combat jet lag and awaken tired eyes.

The warm weather will soon have everyone breaking out their sandals, cute sling-backs and open toe heels. Preparing your feet for spring and summer is easy with the Feet Treat Pedi Intensive Moisturizing Foot Masks. These sock-type masks help soften, repair and hydrate rough, dry, calloused heels for soft feet. They contain: shea butter, apple extract, peppermint, macadamia oil, oat, ginseng root, tea tree and much more to help condition and heal in less than 30 minutes.

The great thing about these masks is that they are all drenched in luscious, rich serum and as you use them the formula soaks into the skin without becoming dry or uncomfortable. You do have to keep them on for a bit longer than other masks but this allows all the great ingredients to go to work and you get extra time to relax and de-stress. The masks work wonders before an event, party or trip and they leave my skin looking renewed and fresh! The serums can also be massaged into the neck, arms, legs and hands so you don't waste a drop!
