Over the last few days we have experienced a wave of scorching heat and humidity on the streets of Toronto and when the summer sun is out in full force I break out my arsenal of hair products to battle frizz and poof. 

The Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Oil-in-Cream has a nourishing complex infused with camellia oil and concentrated essential lipids. This oil was traditionally used by the Geishas of Japan to soften, smooth and enhance the beauty of their long, shiny tresses and since I too value a healthy, flowing mane I've been indulging in the rich formula to tame my curls.

As soon as I apply the cream I feel an immediate difference! There seems to be an instant boost of moisture and my curls feel silky, bouncy and revitalized! It also helps battle dryness, frizz and unruly strands for more manageability and a sleeker look. Just a dollop helps improve the appearance and texture of damaged ends and my long-thick hair lovingly soaks it up!

During the summer when I take a much needed break from my blow dryer, flat iron and other heat styling tools I distribute the cream through damp hair, apply my other leave-ins and air dry for a beautiful finish. Although I have a love-hate relationship when it comes to paste textures in my hair this one blends in well with minimal residue and keeps my natural curls formed and neat all day no matter how harsh the weather gets!
