Here at Diary of a Trendaholic I have reviewed quite a few
beauty boxes and I love sampling the hottest products before investing in
full-sized versions. Today I am featuring my first review on Birchbox which
incorporates great brands and lifestyle items to help you determine which
products work best for you!
Each month Birchbox subscribers receive 5 personalized
beauty samples ranging from: hair treatments, nail lacquers, fragrances and
makeup for $10 a month (+$4.95 shipping and handling). When you sign up you will
be prompted to fill out a comprehensive survey to ensure that the items you
receive suit your preferences and beauty needs. With Birchbox you will never receive the same products twice and you get the inside scoop on cult favorites and new launches!
The program also has a great points system, so if you love
one of your samples and choose to purchase the full-size version you gain
points that can be redeemed for more products, and who doesn't love that!
Let’s take a look at what was included in my box
Amika Nourishing Mask (for all hair types)
I love nourishing hair products, especially during the cold winter. This mask by Amika is free of parabens, artificial colors and sulfates, making it
safe for color treated hair. The mask deeply conditions with jojoba and revitalizes
and repairs for soft manageable hair in just 5-10 mins. I love how rich and thick the formula is, it coats my hair thoroughly, eases detangling and makes my curls soft and bouncy!
Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain- in the shade Heartthrob
I would classify this lip product as a cream rather than a stain due to the sheer to medium coverage it provides but the smooth texture is great. This red/orange shade
transcends all seasons and the formula is buildable, moisturizing, rich and comfortable on the lips. The color is not quite as vivid as it appears in the packaging which makes it suitable for everyday wear and applying it lightly produces a natural, flushed effect.

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel (safe for sensitive skin)
No need visit a spa for a beauty treatment every time you want to refresh and pamper your skin; the green apple peel by Juice Beauty uses natural fruit acids that are
gentle and revitalizing. The acids work to dissolve dead cells for refreshed,
healthy looking skin and although it is called a "peel" no actual peeling is required.
Benefits Cosmetics High Beam
We all want a healthy glow but even if your skincare
routine isn't the best you can achieve luminous skin with this silver-based highlighter by Benefits. This is a product I have been using for awhile and I love
dabbing it along my cheekbones and down my nose for radiant looking skin.
Noir Cosmetics Long-Wear Eyeliner (full size included $15)
I wear eyeliner every time I apply my makeup so I like this
creamy waterproof formula that glides on smoothly for long-lasting color. The
formula is enriched with vitamin E and although I works well for creating smokey looks I would have
preferred it in a twist-up version because I don’t like to sharpen.
Overall I thought the box was well rounded and I would
definitely like the lip stain and the hair mask in a full-sized versions! Some of the samples are
quite small but if they throw in larger items every now and it would be awesome and think the
box is a great way to sample popular brands.

Deletei've seen a lot of reviews for birchbox, and while the products are great, i wish they had more deluxe-sized samples. hard to tell if you like a product or if it works for you with those tiny little samples! i'd love that hair mask!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, sometimes samples sizes are okay because when something is excellent I tend to know right away but other times you do need more. The mask was wonderful!
