Essence Cosmetics 2015 Fall/Winter Collection!

A few weeks ago I attended the essence cosmetics fall/winter preview and paint night to test out the new products and dabble in fun color. The vivid theme inspired us to unleash our inner artists as some Beauty Gurus created canvass paintings while others gathered around the fabulous makeup and scrumptious sweet table!

Although summer may be winding down and fall is on the horizon the new collection and long-lasting formulas are great for all seasons and I love the trendy new packaging!

You may have to do a double-take when you check out the palette below but the- How to Make NUDE Eyes Make-Up Box is not from benefit cosmetics. This cute set has everything you need to create the perfect neutral look or glam party eyes including 6 shimmery hues, duo applicator and step by step tutorials!

The top shadows are great for the lids and highlighting while the bottom row works well in the crease or on the lids for dimension and contrast. The silky texture is smooth, a tad creamy and highly pigmented for beautiful results and the palette is great for travel! You can pick it up for $9.99.

Highlighting is not just for summer especially with the strobing craze taking the beauty world by storm. With the new Shimmer Bronzing Powders you carry that Goddess glow right into fall! The compacts are available in two shades- one for light skin tones and one for darker complexions. Both are infused with soft golden shimmer and a smooth texture that blends beautifully. On my skin both shades work well and since they don’t contain much sparkle you won’t look like a disco ball! The bronzers are warm and subtle for pretty contour, shading and definition. They retail for just $3.99 each.

Continuing with the nude theme the All About Chocolates Palette contains brown and vanilla shades with shimmer, matte and metallic finishes. These shadows are less pigmented, a bit more textured and not as creamy as the palette above but if you prefer something soft and less dramatic they may work.

I would have liked a few richer chocolatey hues but with a good primer the silver and bronzy-browns are quite nice for day wear and the palette retails for just $4.99.

If you love the essence long-lasting lipsticks as much as I do then you may be happy to learn that the brand has added 3 nude shades to the line ranging from light, mid tone and deep for a variety of complexions. Like the bright pigments these have the same wonderful glide, brilliant shine and creamy, moisturizing formula that feels great on dry lips. You can also mix and match the nude tones to achieve your desired look but my fave is 05 Cool Nude. The lipsticks are just $3.49 each!

If you are going nude on the lips and you want your nails to match, the new I Love Trends Nail Polish comes in 4 chic shades from marshmallow and soft peach to rose and satin beige. The finishes range from creamy, metallic and light shimmer for a variety of stylish looks. The polish retails for $2.49

Although I like classic nude I prefer bold, bright hues so I am a huge fan of the mini nail polishes from essence. The new gel formula provides a longer-lasting manicure and a gorgeous finish for an amazing price! With 16 intense, trendy shades and a full coverage, glossy gel finish your nails will definitely stand-out!

I like that the formula dries quickly and the flat, wide brush and creamy consistency makes the polish very easy to work with. Most of the shades apply opaque in just one coat which is ideal when you are short on time. As for longevity I get best results when I use 2 layers of top coat for extra protection and about 4 days wear.

The gel base coat and top coat do seem to help prolong your mani and a UV lamp is not required. Although the top coat is a bit thick I love the professional high-shine finish and these vibrant little bottles retail for just $2.99 each!

The Easy 2 Use Jumbo Eyeliner Pen has a large tapered felt tip that glides on smoothly to create bold cat eyes. The smudge-proof, fade-proof formula and shorter tip makes it easier to manoeuvre for great definition and shape. The liner retails for $3.49.

Essence has also added two new lipliners to the collection- a bright red called Femme Fatal and Honey Berry. The pretty liners have rich, creamy pigment to shape your pout without bleeding.

The handy Eyebrow Fixing Pencil with transparent formula keeps stray hairs in place for a neater arch and the cap has a handy little brush on the end. The lip liners are $1.99 each and the brow pencil is $2.49.

Last but not least are two great mascaras- the Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is ideal if you desire length volume and glam and the Plump no Clump deep black volume mascara is great for a fanned out, voluminous look. I like using these two brushes and formulas together for intense, thickness and mega extension because I love exaggerated, plush lashes! Both mascaras retail for $4.99.

You can pick up these great products at Shoppers Drug Mart, ULTA and Fred Myers Stores.

    1. You can find essence at ULTA in the States but overall they have a pretty great distribution worldwide. I've even found the brand on a small island outside of Venice Italy and other places in Europe!
